DD is the leveling content but honestly they added enough improvements to keep it evergreen that it doesn't need to be the only leveling content. OC could easily be another choice.

I think OC should've let you level your normal jobs. It would have been the glue to keep the content together better. As people should have multiple avenues on how they choose to level their other jobs in their preferred enjoyment of the game.
As it currently is, Occult Crescent has trouble keeping players interested. And the issue is Forked Tower. If you don't think Forked Tower is for you, then leveling the Phantom Jobs will feel more pointless. Meaning you have less reason to be in there aside from a mount, some glamours, a portrait, and a minion.
If OC let you level normal jobs, you might level your Phantom Jobs even if done so begrudgingly even if you don't want to do the tower. Which means in terms of player engagement and player retention, the content would've been doing its job proper.
And this exact stuff I am talking about is why the Deep Dungeon will see more frequent users, because Deep Dungeons are designed to let the player level their alternate jobs while making progress in the dungeon not only on floors but also on their aetherpool which might as well be like phantom leveling.
I am glad they didn't just do a copy and apste of leveling in bozja. IF they added phantom jobs, you have to raise knowledge to 20 to do FT, and next area or 2 is probablyg onna be like level 21-30 and 31-40. Bozja i leveled like 2 jobs in it after beating EW because i decided to work on a resistence weapon and had to do all teh steps. Doing the min bozja was easier esp some of the one time quests. Ok h ow would you propose they let you level in OC, without syncing your ilvl up to do OC?
A happy family between a viera, a goddess and a child
The way to allow you to level in OC is easy because it’s the same as Bozja. All characters are synced to 700, up and down, entry at level 91. Completing a fate or a CE gives you 3 types of experience, job experience, phantom job experience and knowledge levelI am glad they didn't just do a copy and apste of leveling in bozja. It becomes an advantage to enter with a level 100 job because they are the only ones who can wear arcanauts gear and enter forked
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
I genuinely don't understand what is so difficult about this requirement. I've done it multiple times, both with friends and with randoms in PF. You can even do it alone if you like a challenge. It's seriously not much more time consuming or difficult than the majority of other content, you only have to do it once and it'll give you access to all the future DDs, because the requirement is always the same.
I don’t find it difficult or think it can’t be done I just personally don’t see why they continue to add it as a requirementI genuinely don't understand what is so difficult about this requirement. Like imagine if OC said “just do anemos to unlock this”
It just doesn’t need to exist so to speak even if it’s inoffensive

I guess you're right. The requirements for Anemos and PotD are very different, though. Palace just requires you to finish Copperbell Mines and be lvl17 and you can enter. Anemos wants you to finish MSQ all the way up to Stormblood and be lvl70 to enter. I understand the analogy, but PotD's requirements are a one-time thing and the requirements are so low that if you simply exist in ARR, you can do 50 floors of Palace.
So backtracking to do PotD is much easier and less time-consuming than getting through the entirety of Anemos. You can get Palace done in an evening if you're taking your time with it. Don't get me wrong, I understand you point, I'm just surprised people complain about not being able to engage with the newest DD when they can't even be bothered to do the most basic part of the most accessible one out there.
Player
I don't even have jobs to level anymore and I'm mad it doesn't give XP. It would benefit SO many people if you could level there. My friend is leveling SGE right now and he didn't believe us when we said he couldn't level in OC.
