That's a general dev mindset for other aspects of the game too. Adhere to a formula and barely stray from it.

Look at the hairstyle contest winners... How many of those entries are styles very similar to what we have already, or even similar between them (e.g. the k-pop band leader hairstyle).

I find whatever they've been doing with the "high Fantasy" glam to be super boring and stale so I tend to prefer the modern glam but even then not all of them have been bangers.

It's not the modernity that's objectionable to me, it just all looks so high-schoolers at Glendale Galleria.

Out of place for most of the game, way too much of it. Because they want japanese fashion inserted in, instead of theme-fitting wear. Simple as

Besides the fact that I think Solution 9 shouldn't even exist in the first place, so it technically fitting that style is irrelevant to me.

The modern glamours often still just don't. They look like stuff you can find in an irl store right now, not like they were designed by the Alexandrians (even though they are generally more generic), the Garleans or the Allagans.

Dangling chains, spiked accessories, complicated deco'd nails, sleek high heels, big edgy earrings, patterned wrist warmers, arm bangles-idk idk. Kinda feel like it's a problem that's existed across all themed attires though, in XIV. They tend to get one idea for a look, and then do that exact same look 10 different times.

I think modern and fantasy can come together and look really really cool, but xiv so far isnt the best at translating that. Feel like they need a more creative team of minds behind their glam releases. The release of modern glams in this expansion though, is completely fair.

It just doesn't fight with the aesthetics of the game as a whole or the world at large of Eythris, even the Garlean Empire's clothes fit into the world, and they were as far as we know,w the most advanced race on the planet. I just hope one dawntrail is over and done with we can see more clothing that fit into the world rather than "Modern day clothes" once more

Most of the clothes look more contemporary to now in the real world, while Solution 9 looks ultra futuristic. They don't really fit together.

I find it ironic that they borrow from FF9 to introduce this futuristic dystopia. FF9 was a return to a more retro style after 2 relatively futuristic games. There is nothing wrong with a futuristic setting in Final Fantasy, but the whole thing is sloppy and they don't seem to get it.

Considering that the last PvP gear was casual, I was expecting this one to be of a different kind. I like casual IRL-inspired glams and I will get the new ones but I wish we obtained them somewhere else so that PvP gave something different each time. Compare, for instance, how distinct the Late Allagan PvP glams are to the Republican Classical-themed ones. I'm also still waiting on a simple tank top without tattoos or extra stuff like belts attached.

There's also the issue that we only get new things to spend crystal trophies on once per expansion.
