    Chat Bubble Feedback

Chat bubbles are incredibly useful in populated areas where the chat is flying by very quickly since they allow you to simply look in the direction of who you're speaking with and ignore the chat window entirely. They also make the game much more immersive as they allow you to focus on the characters and world around you instead of staring at a text log. With a two line limit you'll still be forced to look at the chat window regularly to read the entirety of messages which defeats the point of having chat bubbles to begin with.

Additionally, one of the main situations where this most frequently happens is during roleplaying, such as at a packed tavern venue. As you might imagine, messages sent during roleplaying are typically fairly long and with a great number of people in a venue the chat window can become very difficult to follow. Chat bubbles help a great deal with this for the reasons stated above. However, a two line limit makes chat bubbles pretty much useless in this scenario for one of the groups that could use it the most.

I have no issue with there being an option to cut off the message after two lines, but please consider adding an additional option to remove this limit entirely and display the entirety of each message in the chat bubble. It's okay to have large chat bubbles if you're opting into it!

    Thank you!

PS: Please allow them to be used in combat as well. If people become super toxic about it you can always disable it later.

tl;dr: The two line limit severely limits the usefulness of this feature. Please add an option to display the entirety of each message inside the chat bubble.

Who needs this? Absolutely no one I've ever played with in the past 12 years has ever needed this. But here it comes more screen bloat blocking up the scenery.

Chat bubbles have been a highly requested feature for years. They are entirely optional and off by default.

As a roleplayer and one of the ones that pushed for getting chat bubbles, what they showed is exactly what I wanted. The chat bubble is meant to just be a visual indication of who is talking so you quickly identify the character, then move to read their emote on the more comfortable chatbox.

Reading long-winded messages in a small bubble above a moving character is a great way of tiring your eyes quickly and generally being uncomfortable as fuck. I have seen the "other" chat bubbles too, and with long emotes like is usual in RP they just clutter the screen incredibly quickly the moment there are more than three people talking. Aetheryte plazas or any main city hub would be a visual nightmare.

Fortunately the option I am suggesting would not infringe on your enjoyment of the truncated options in any way.

Except for the several million players who downloaded an illegal plugin to get these. You can also turn it off. But this has been something many many many people have asked for.

Please allow us to remove the line limit. The chat window already has a restriction of barely over a paragraph in character count. With this stronger limit on chat bubbles in place, this makes the purpose of this feature somewhat inert.

I suppose this limit was put in place to reduce screen clutter, but why not give the power to the players? Keep your limit of one or two line options, but also give us no limits.
