Yeah, just learn Japanese. : )
Going back to ucob - when speech bubble of the boss determines the next mechanic - real nice to figure out if its just a 1 liner with 1 different kanji. Real difficult to see if its 3lines with random words.

Through further testing today I confirmed that this doesn't happen with NPC chat bubbles. You can see the bubble appear, swing your camera elsewhere and back, and the bubble will still be there. Only player chat bubbles mysteriously disappear as soon as they're off screen. To add to this, today I noticed that even if a bubble appears on your screen, if you move the camera in such a way that the bubble is off-screen it will immediately delete the bubble. So if someone says something in view and you just happen to swing the camera to glance at something else in that moment, that bubble is gone even if you look back toward where it was. Again this isn't a problem in other MMOs with chat bubbles. They need to render independent of where your camera is pointed.

Also the BIGGEST complaint i have with the chatbubbles.Through further testing today I confirmed that this doesn't happen with NPC chat bubbles. I really dont know what they are even thinking.
And yeah im just here to rant and disappear for another half a year or something.
Like, man...
Even the term filter is useless because its case sensitive without giving us an OPTION to make it not sensitive.
Bubbles being bugged is fine, i dont mind that... But im really confused what they were doing. The system is already there, like you said, the NPCs have chatbubbles.
I could even imagine that the plugins were just piggybacking off of that system and the new chatbubbles are a whole new system hence it bugging out.
Either way i would just disable the chatbubble feature and consider using the community made one since it just has what i would want. But then it got discontinued because hey now its official huh...
Good directions though and i respect their effort with what i hear about the developers situation.
just please Square Greed, give them more ressources...

I agree with this sentiment entirely, particularly in making it optional. This could also make it fairly useful to pick out allies in Alliances that request help or a quick esuna when their healers are downed. Granted, this is a niche scenario, but I've come across it two or three times.
