People are acting like the drop-off in updates and communication is some new issue — it’s not.
Remember four years ago (June 2021, to be exact), during PLL LXV? That was the one with Yoko Taro and Yoshi-P answering top-rated community questions live on stream.
One of those top-voted questions — mine, actually — asked about the possibility of Flight Unit mounts. Yoko Taro was totally on board, but Yoshi-P gave the usual “I’ll have to check with the dev team” response.
Here’s the proof:

I was glad we at least got the Pod mount (since the assets already existed), but since then? Total silence. Even a “sorry, can’t be done” would’ve been more respectful than this endless radio silence.
And that’s not even the only question that got swept under the rug. A lot of community-raised topics just… vanish. No follow-up, no transparency, no closure.
This isn’t a new pattern. It’s just been getting harder to ignore.
We don't need a Liveletter - we need a Town Hall.

It's been like this since 2.1I was glad we at least got the Pod mount (since the assets already existed), but since then? Total silence. Even a “sorry, can’t be done” would’ve been more respectful than this endless radio silence.

The lead up to 2.0, the communication was amazing, we could literally have conversations with community managers, who were absolutely amazing btw, and the devs, Yoshi PR and those managers were always quick and gave good answers. Even when they didn't when they said, "just wait for 2.0!" which was the "please look forward to it" of the community team, they were more than happy to talk more when I called them out on giving us bogus, non-answers.
In the space between 2.0 and 2.1, communication fell off hard and after that, it was mostly like it is now. They saw the relaunch as a success and the player concerns, questions and such were just ignored from there on out. The community team even "moved on" and were never replaced with anyone who has made themselves known. We did think they really cared during 1.x-2.0. After that tho, nope we were just subs who will just have to like whatever we are givin.
The community itself hasn't really changed either. I remember saying that the titan quests with all the wine and what not were a bit much and they should trim stuff like that down and the only response was, "the game is perfect! Stop complaining! Everyone here is so negative! Just unsub if you don't like it! blah blah blah" and guess what the devs realized and changed years later....yep about half those quests were just deleted because they were, drum roll please....too much

I was wondering why they were going into so much detail about the deep dungeon, but it turns out it was because they were making a lot of changes to the format with Pilgrim's Traverse. They look interesting.
Live Letter was alright. A lot of good stuff is coming with 7.3, but there's stuff I'm still waiting for like glamor system changes/additions.
LL Summary for those that didn't watch it:
"This time we will make changes for the better of the game. Yes, we said that last time. Yes, we also said that the time before last time. Yes, also the last several times before that. But come on, we're super serious this time. So please keep paying that subscription fee and we totally promise you will get content. Eventually. We have our best interns currently working on it. We told ChatGPT not to give us another script like Dawntrail, so we're hoping this next expansion feels like it was actually made by a human since the AI models have improved. Also, Deep Dungeon, totally new and exciting. Please ignore the fact that this is version 4"

Quantum saved 7.3

(didn't watch the LL but read a summary afterwards, if that matters)
It was honestly pretty encouraging. It wasn't a massive complete overhaul that fixes every issue I have with the game, but it did show that they are listening (even if it feels like this is the first time in a while), and they are trying to right the ship. Even if the new DD and Quantum don't turn out well, I want to see them continue to iterate on those ideas instead of simply giving up.
It really feels like you will still need a plugin for chat bubbles after this, if the size is that restrictive.I am disappointed that they are truncating chat bubble messages after a maximum of two lines. Why exactly is the limit two lines? Why can it not be the character limitation that already exists within the chat window? This Chat Bubble feature is already going to be introduced to the game Disabled by default, why impose this limitation?
All this will do is have me look at the bubble then make me look to the chat window after. That's annoying. Why?
To be clear, all the customization stuff for the chat bubbles is neat, but if you limit the messages to two lines only, doesn't this make them completely useless?
I was overall pretty happy with the LL, though the lack of housing updates was the only part that was a huge let down for me when they said they were going to talk about housing in the first LL during this one.
So, are we going to get to play the new DD in August, or are we going to have to wait until some time like October..?
