Where did I say its the players fault? The problem is that there is a hand full of people, a minority that takes their In-game Identity way too serious. Acting like its their IRL or something like that. Most players dont really care if another person can see a connection between the main- and altcharacter. (Maybe not here on the forum because here we are complaining about gearsets while also calling the dev's racist for it). That has nothing to do with being apathetic. No personal data got leaked because of the problems with the blacklist.
Im not trying to excuse the mistake SE did. It sucks that this even happened but a 2nd or 3rd reset is imo too much. At some point the playerbase has to let go and accept it.

Imagine your underage child playing a game (FINAL FANTASY XIV is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Alcohol Reference, Animated Blood, Language, Suggestive Themes, and Violence.) and they get a shout promoting an ERP 18+ Club/Party House in game, only to go to one of those places and get bombarded with advertisements to questionable websites for services in a suggestive nature.

Better yet, imagine being the adult trying to pick up an underage teen's character. Or the adult promoting it in a /shout in a main city.

I have no problems with peoples lifestyles, but FFS find another way to promote it that isn't in-game. I have a big problem with potential minor exploitation.

Then you misunderstood me I think.
I'm against the erp adverts and I want SE to take actions against it especially now that everyones Mute-List will be reset.
+18 Adverts shouldnt be allowed in any way imo and people participating in that kind of roleplay should instead advertise it on third party websites, discord servers ect.
Unfortunately the Entertainment Software Rating Board is only for NA and sadly if im not mistaken the only age rating company that doesnt rate community created content like the erp nightclubs.

I see where you're coming from, OP, but this slides through the ToS because it falls under "community building." There’s no rule outright banning the use of "18+," and there likely never will be—after all, even statics use that label. Unless it’s classified as discrimination, it’s here to stay. As for NSFW, it doesn’t automatically mean nudity or sex, which is precisely why it continues to slip through the cracks. Not all forms of NSFW are ToS violating. Even if SE did ban those specific terms, those posters would find other words to circumvent the rules.

This poster is right - and wrong.

There are moderators within the game that can probably put a stop to this crap. However, unless an actual crime of exposure is being reported by some kids parent, they won't lift a finger.

That said, these groups are openly advertising themselves as NSFW/18+ which does go against the ESRB/PEGI ratings. So technically GM's and moderators can intervene as it is against their standard ratings and does break a rule or three.

I get/am with you on the subject, and honestly I don't really care about the degen community. They do need to be policed within the "Community building" part of the game and need to find their own method of advertising outside of it.

The conversation here has moved on but tbh I'd like to hear why reworking the blacklist/mutelist again means client-side data gets deleted. There's likely a good reason but still, I'd appreciate if they were to have explained it.
