    It is obvious that Square Enix don't have a clear path for FFXIV phys range jobs.
    Imagine waiting a whole expansion to just see that BRD songs don't require a target to play those songs.
    I am just going to give up on the phys range jobs and play a melee job.

    They gave buffs to MCH to make it equal to other phys ranged jobs after year of the expansion launch why does this happen in every expansion

    I'm amused at the two liner of explanations for Ranged Physical on the job guide page.

    We have increased the potency of bard and machinist actions to achieve a better balance among physical ranged DPS jobs.

    Then comparing to the caster paragraph which strangely mirrors it almost perfectly, perhaps they forgot to add this:

    Ranged Physical jobs are not highly prized for their reviving actions (of which they have none), and their mitigation tools are nothing unique to them either. In fact, they're only prized and taken in parties for the 1% party role bonus, which ensures that other jobs can still parse on fflogs properly, else without them they'd lose on that 1% damage bonus. However, once the focus shifts to efficiently clearing the duty, more importance is generally placed on high damage output. No Ranged Physical job excels in this area, and are decidedly lacking, so we have increased their potency to narrow the gap with the rest of the roster, while still ensuring that they stay where they belong.

    Called it everywhere. It's almost a formula at this point since ShB. We're probably going to move back from the 10% damage gap down to around 5% or something for the second part of endgame DT, much like it went for endgame ShB and endgame EW.

    Any BRD enjoyers having difficulty keeping song rotation up between encounters in Meso Terminal? Or am i just getting unlucky with parties?

    5 or 6 runs now and everytime ive had a song drop before starting combat again and i cant recall it happening this much in other dungeons.

    Called it everywhere. It's almost a formula at this point since ShB. We're probably going to move back from the 10% damage gap down to around 5% or something for the second part of endgame DT, much like it went for endgame ShB and endgame EW.
    And the cycle repeats itself. In 8.0, they'll increase the tax like they always do. But this time everyone will be forced to do the first Savage tier with their shiny new toy, if they release a new Physical Ranged. The "good" news is at least it'll deal more damage than the average CBU3 P.Ranged, to ensure that the job becomes "popular". We can only hope this is the case, rather than a 15% ranged tax to make the new job relevant.

    Honestly, a reason why I've stopped playing BRD in casual instances like dungeons that have inherent down time that's unpredictable. BRD's song rotation is detrimentally inflexible. BRD's songs need to be more flexible.

    I don't think BRD song cycle is a problem in dungeons between pulls at all. Like, I have many problems with BRD, but that's not one of them. Just cycle the song as you go, they have full uptime, and play around them. In a lot of cases, you'll end up with the song finishing once a pull is done, you can hold the next one until the next pull, and keep your timings in mind, and things should stay aligned. Try to start Army's at the end of a pull under Ballad so that it covers downtime and you go back to Minuet the next one. If a pull takes too long because the party damage is low, then start a new song, or hold it if it's just for like 10-15 more seconds.

    This is what I'd call agency and playing around one's toolkit. Think outside the box.

    Funny thing is they went and buffed Bard when it's the best Physical Ranged out of the 3.

    DNC and BRD "lost" 1.5k to 3k rDPS at the 99th percentile. They didn't get nerfed, though, so the numbers are a bit artificial right now. At high percentiles, Machinist is never going to beat DNC/BRD without a raid buff. Patch 7.3 buffed its single target by 1.7%, which should be around 500 rDPS.
