No, i didn't. Dungeons are just better options compare to open world grinding and lol go play vindictus? maybe you should be the one migrate to the other game because this is happening in FFXIV, its not a plan, its happening and you don't even have basis why open world grinding is better.

I kind of want to open world level. I haven't done that since SWG. I miss it. I can't count the hours I spent on Endor clobbering Marauders for skill tapes or on Dath getting hides. Even Naboo because there were recipes that you needed Naboo Wooly and the dynamic resource system meant no two weeks were the same. This week Tat leather might have 800 OQ, next week it might have 1000.

If FF14 could figure out a dynamic crafting materials system I'd be here until I was old and gray.

I pray the quests won't just be the boring standard kill X of Y quests.

But they will. It's inevitable with the amount they need to make it viable.

But at least we will go to other places unlike levequests terrible system of going to the same damn place over and over again.

I think that Hildibrand - at the very least - proved that they're trying harder to create memorable quests and cutscenes.

Hildibrand gives me hope about 2.0's story!

Lets say I'm a noob, just finished leveling my warrior 1-50 or where ever our new cap may end up being through quest. What if I decided to level Dragoon, would the quest restart on their own, or will I have used all my quest up for my second job.

I like questing to gain experience, but I'd just like some comments if this will be the case.
If we can think of this so quickly, and believe me it's been brought up before, I would imagine the dev team has already taken it into consideration. Also they never said it would be the only way to level. In a previous interview somewhere they just said that grinding on enemy camps simply wouldn't be the most efficient way to level. Still possible and viable, just not 100% the most efficient.

I am terrified of "quest-based leveling." To me, its the scariest and most worrisome phrase of all 2.0. I cannot stand quest-grinding. I much, much, rather monster grind in a party. In fact, I am worried in general of the idea of quests being primary means of exp over killing monsters.

Be crushed if 2.0 comes out with nice new servers, etc, and is just a FF version of every other WoW clone out there. Please god no.

Open world leveling is so much more fun then quest grinding I detest quest leveling but I'll reserve judgement for when 2.0 is actually out I think they'll find a good balance between the two.

repeatable quest will be the problem fixer. As they said at gamescom lv10 is when you'll start leves.

To many people with this phobia. I wonder how did people play final fantasy games in general. It is pretty much quest/adventuring oriented.

FFXIV is an MMO but lets not forget it is also an RPG.

Why not balance all 3...story driven quest...trash quest...and mob grinding...that way we can pick how we choose to lvl.

Mob grinding for xp will be a thing of the past. It's a good thing trust me, get over it. Bring on the quests.
