I can understand if it was said that Legacy/Current Players are guaranteed, but I have a hard time believing that we get to use our characters.
Perhaps FFXIV 1.0 servers will shut down in Sept 1 month to Port them to 2.0 client ( October) Get to use them in the beta that is Scheduled for November.
