Here's the thing - that "gripping saga" that you only happens in the latter part of the story. The first half of DT was a Wikipedia article disguised as a walking simulator. There was no tension, no mystery, and nothing really to do besides listen to Wuk Lamat and others essentially be tour guides. They telegraphed the ending for the Rite of Succession in the first section (I did the bird people first) and with the way that these stories go, the stakes were non-existent.

Yes, I'll agree that the Alexandria saga was significantly stronger than the Rite of Succession but that only eats up the latter part of 7.0. We need to slog through levels 90-96ish or so before we actually get a gripping story.

On a side note, given how 7.3 will most likely play out, I'm actually convinced that the devs got the story order wrong. The strongest STORY order of events should've been:

- 6.x patches as the Rite of Succession
- 7.0 should've been the entire Alexandria arc up to and including 7.3
- 7.x patches should've been Zero and the Thirteenth

Yes, I know why that would've been impossible, given the way the game was developed but I feel that it would've given us a better story overall.
