YES! A method to earn additional retainers in-game would be great. Like the Gobbiebag quests from the old days in 11. Each leg could grant us an additional retainer up to the retainer cap, instead of it just being relegated to a real money transaction.

That's why they are going to make the rumored Switch 2 version. Then they can have Switch limitations for them to fall back on as the go to excuse for why x y z cannot be done.

I think the entire video game genre really needs to figure something out with game inventories because I'm getting really tired of managing items in games.

FFXIV's inventory systems are pretty bad though because of the delay between accessing the different retainers, and all the different storage options accessed different ways. You would think if you were hiring someone to help you manage your items and selling things for you that they would do more than just hold something for you.

It would be cool if there was:
⟡A unified interface to see all of your items at once, no matter where they are stored.
⟡More sort and filter options for all places you can look at items.
⟡A better search interface.
⟡Faster access when to stored items, for instance, allowing any retainer to access all stored items.
⟡My dream: an option to view items as a text based spreadsheet with different sortable columns instead of grids of icons.
