some of gearsets in 7.3 preview looks fine but problem is that there is only 4 different looking gearsets when 3 of gearsets are twice and only difference i see between them is just the different colors.

These people just need to grow some balls (or a spine, or a brain?) and stop being offended at every dang thing on the planet..... It's getting tiring. If you don't like the gear, GLAM it. problem solved. I read some of the posts in that closed thread complaining about it and the idiocy gave me a headache.... And apparently GameRant wrote an article saying the FFXIV playerbase is boycotting the game... LOL!The ones that scream the loudest aren't half the player base. Funny thing? Only one set reminds me, and many others, that the Three Musketeers were never part of the Spanish Inquisition.
We SHOULD be upset that the gear doesn't reflect something that comes out of IX - Like... the Meso Terminal? Give us Alexander gear or something to that theme. I'm gonna cosplay as a female D'Artagnan.
As for all of this rage bait victim complex BS - Some people need to get over their hubris. Or just stop being overly offended and looking for a reason to be angsty.
Four hundred years ago was a long time. Unless you have a time machine, build a bloody bridge and get over it.
This gear is obviously inspired by Burmecia, that's what I don't get about the outrage as a whole. This is a gear set that is inspired by one of the nation's in Final Fantasy 9. It may not be exact, but Neo Alexandrian wasn't exact either, hence: inspired.
Truth be told, my immediate thought when I saw this gear the other night was:
"Oh! Finally they're representing Burmecia! Now when's Lindblum?"
Yet so many people are hung up on this thought of it being offensive when the world that the Meso Terminal and this gear are in so far removed from Latin America that its almost hilarious that this is considered a "problem." Its the Ninth, Living Memory and the Meso Terminal are on the Ninth, a world that is heavily inspired by Europe from what we've seen. This isn't Turali or even Etheiryan in origin, its gear from the remnants of The Ninth.
In all honesty, anyone upset could literally just go on Bsky and ask Kate about it, as she's their cultural consultant liaison. She'd have been involved in the process if there was something related to this gear.
Personally, after the outcry people keep having about cultural influences, I wouldn't blame CS3 if they opt to simply rip off previous Final Fantasy games or go with their own ideas for civilizations and cultures instead, as clearly anything "inspired" by reality is going to face heavy scrutiny by people simply looking for a reason to be mad.

It might be peak but it could be more peaker if they inventing new type of silhouette for healer/caster instead of, robes and robes-like
I quite like the new sets. Honestly don't know where any of this conquistador raging is coming from, because none of the upcoming sets look like them at all. The fem elezen in the screenshot looks like a French musketeer, the various helmets for presumably Fending and Maiming look like dragoon helmets (historical dragoons that is, not Final Fantasy dragoons)... if the tank/maiming gear was someone in a set of half-plate with a gleaming cuirass and a Morion helmet, I could see it. As it is, it's bizarre. I'm going to be very disappointed if every time Square tries to add a set from the renaissance and early modern periods (15th to 18th centuries), people with no historical knowledge are going to be screaming nonsense.
On an aside, if Square wanted to add some Landsknecht gear, that would be absolutely bussin

They all look ugly to me..
I love the... what I assume is the Aiming set. Really good aesthetic. Alas, I'd rather it were glammable by a Red Mage.
One day, cross-job glams, maybe...
Where were you with Cutter's Cry gear then?
