New gearsets preview is a disappointment

Honestly if they had put the non native looking gear in another expac/dungeon that isn't Tural, people probably wouldn't have a problem. I just don't think it really fits, especially in Tural.

Now after I done some necromancy, I will add my own personal thoughts:

I enjoy wearing the new world (native american) set including the bonnet. I enjoy wearing the sami set, especially the top and skirt and gloves. I enjoy wearing the various chinese and japanese outfits. I enjoy wearing the persian/arabic outfits. And I will also be enjoying wearing conquistador/musketeer outfits.

Trying to police me or others on what we can wear in a video game is just going to make you seem unreasonable and hypocritical because of what other outfits exist. Calling it cultural appropriation or racist shows you are stuck in the the 2010s internet.

of course you count, and not everyone will agree or have the same thoughts around this. the issue is when people raising good faith arguments are shouted down and told to get over it. if it doesn't offend you, i'm glad, but this has really upset many people and they deserve to be listened to as well.

I support this by also cancelling my sub for next month not just because of this but because so far dawntrail a expac inspired by latam has done much with the inspiration and I don't want the same to happen to other expansions

You don’t get to decide who does or doesn’t “count” in this conversation based on how “connected” they are to their roots by your standards.

Not a monolith? Ok but you don’t speak for all Indigenous people either. The absurd idea that only those who can trace a pure ancestral line or practice a certain kind of cultural engagement are allowed to speak on these topics? Seriously? It erases the reality that colonization affected Indigenous identity in a thousand complex and uneven ways.

I mean you can wear whatever you want. You wouldn't be wearing it if they didn't make it in the first place. You wouldn't have even known the existence of the gear if they hadn't made it.

I also noticed that most negative comments have low posts counts, but still older accounts, probably because they felt this was worth logging over to comment. So I guess it tracks.

What I don't understand is what is deemed conquistador here, I need images and circled sections on the attires with explanations on how this is inspired from Cortes and his conquest

I haven't seen the new set because honestly I don't care much I am sure some piece will look good and be used as glam sooooooooo ya that's all. I just think people need to maybe chill a bit x)
