Do NOT be this healer

Let me preface this by saying: I love this community. People are so funny, respectful, and positive—I’ve enjoyed these interactions more than in any other game I’ve ever played.

That said, yesterday I had an awful experience with a Lalafell girl player who was, to my horror, a mentor. I was leveling my Paladin in dungeons, and they were playing Sage. Everything was fine until I used Clemency. You see, I like to use heals—if the skill is there, it’s meant to be used.

The first time I used it, they said, “Oh no, a Clemency user,” which I ignored and kept playing. The second time, they said, “If you use Clemency again, I will not heal you.” I was taken aback—I couldn’t believe someone could be so petty, childish, and egotistical. We exchanged a few words while I continued tanking, because I hate wasting my time or anyone else’s. Weirdly enough, they started healing better, so I didn’t need to heal myself again.

First of all, I’ve worked with people my entire life—you do not start a human interaction by threatening someone. Ever. Don’t do that.

Secondly, we were doing chill, casual content—not progression. I’ll play however the hell I want (obviously, never in a way that harms others—I always do my best). If a tank using a heal triggers you that much, please go touch some grass.

Lastly, I don’t know you, so of course I don’t trust you. I’ve died to bad healers before, so I always play defensively. I’m actually a main healer (WHM), and a very good one. I never get upset or take it personally when a tank uses their own heals—the goal is to keep the party alive and clear the dungeon efficiently. Use whatever tools you have. I love healing, so even when I play Paladin, if the dungeon gives me the chance, I’ll help by healing party members—including the healer.

So yeah, don’t be petty or rude just because someone isn’t playing the way you would—especially if it’s not negatively affecting the experience in any way, shape, or form. Let people enjoy the game. It’s casual content.

And honestly, you shouldn’t be a mentor if you’re rude and don’t understand basic human interaction.

You using clemency basically ran them out of a job. In the end nobody should give a rats behind in casual content. Just get your tomes and get out. Treat it like Walmart.

And as I said in my post: I’m actually a main healer (WHM).
And I was not spamming heals, I used it two times. Don't asume things.
