Mentors are veteran players who chose to offer their time and experience to help guide new adventurers. To facilitate their assistance, mentors will gain access to a special chat channel as well as a means to easily register for duties and trials with new players.
As a mentor, you are expected to actively perform the following:
Provide gameplay advice for new adventurers and other players.
Be an exemplar for player etiquette.
Invite new adventurers to the Novice Network, and answer their queries in the chat channel.
Be an exemplar for player etiquette.
I've recently just started doing the DT normal raids. Every single time I sign up for the first time and enter I'll put forward the message about "Hi first time here hope it's ok if I tank" You know what happens? Every single time the other tank ISN'T a mentor they are more than happy to let me tank and learn. Whenever it's been a mentor they spam taunt and refuse to let me tank it.
Being an EXEMPLAR for player ETIQUETTE. Like come on. Is it so much to ask to allow a first timer to tank. As tank you only ever get the one time to tank a boss blind. After that you can never experience it again for that boss. You know what's coming where to go ect.
Also before anyone says anything. Whenever I tank with someone who is a first time tank I'll always let them tank it if they want to. Sometimes they don't and that's fine. But I will always give someone the chance to tank a boss blind since I understand the joy it can bring. But I guess for some mentors who are supposed to be paragons of this game when it comes to kindness and being helpful that's too much
Additionally if you're going to go around with the mentor tag you shouldn't be ignoring chat. That is literally part of the agreement you have. How can you help anyone if you're ignoring chat?
It costs people nothing to be kind seems like non mentors know that but some mentors have forget that.
