Aether is a deadzone. FCs have nobody signing in, no new players are allowed to come in, and this applies to every server in the entire datacenter.

Square-Enix, you need to start thinking about the number of inactive accounts that are plaguing our servers. In an FC of 500+ people, we're lucky if 10 people are online (and AFK). It's maddening.



Please unlock Aether.

Consolidate servers if you have to.

I only recently traveled to the Aether DC from Primal because I spent four days in the PF looking for people to do Post-SHB MSQ dungeons/trials, with absolutely no luck.

Figured I'm better off just staying as a Traveler on Aether.

While I wouldn't say that not having fresh blood necessarily makes something a ghost town, it does make it full of veteran players who all have their own established statics and groups. It becomes hard for those "left out" to find others at the start of their journey, whether that is a journey doing MSQ, Savage or anything at all really.

You seem to be misunderstanding something. SE does not base Congested status on how many accounts total have a character on the server. If they did that, all worlds on all data centers would be locked forever. They base Congested status on concurrent connections. This means the peak number of players that logged in at the same time since the last patch. Obviously this only happens at peak hours (evening after work or weekends).

For example, a world could have 5 million characters on it (created over a 15 year period), but they will obviously base Congested status on if they've got a significant amount of players logged in at the same time ie. 5,000. And yes that may look like a small number of players, but across an entire data center that's 40,000 and across 4 data centers that's 160,000 players that could, potentially, be logged in at the same moment in one region alone.

I know I traveled yesterday to aether from crystal, only open world was adamantoise. Mostly to get a run of Jeuno First Walk in, it was either 25+ mins on my own datacenter, or 15+ on aether.

Oh, I'm not complaining, I just wish there'd be more local players doing the regular gathering routes. Quite odd seeing so many travelers doing solo world stuff like that.

Players are leaving the game at record pace. The remaining players need servers with other players to have something to do.
People want to move to the servers that aren't gasping out dying breaths.

Having anything even remotely viable to play on as 'congested' at a time when players are already losing interest is a bad look and just leads to more lost subs.

TBH, there were 2 open worlds on Aether before 7.2, so it's not too long ago you could do a paid transfer over until the most recent update. I wouldn't mind since more players means faster queue, apart from the general travellers here.
