To fit with other rogue likes, I feel pomander buffs shouldn't be temporary for the floor, it should be a stackable buff that expires after you finish that floor set. Maybe other wacky buffs like sps/sks to the point your long casts might be instants. Actually embrace the wackiness you can get from chests and building your character to slaughter the enemies with ease... Barring luck let's you. My favorite part of Roguelikes like Cult of the Lamb or Binding of Isaac was the insane power creep you and the enemies did throughout the dungeons. Bad luck runs can still happen and make you restart, and that's fine. That's what a Roguelike is all about, imo.

Also, aside from the usual 100 floors, smaller rogue like dungeons, about the size of 3 or 4 floors with a boss at the end.

    1) The map has a different structure than the quadrants linked by a corridor. Maybe longer rooms, bridges, balconies. Maybe just one HUGE floor that makes up for 9 levels, with boss rooms in between them - this means less, but bigger levels. I want to see them experiment with this rather than just a fake impression that the levels go horizontally rather than vertically, because that's actually meaningless to the gameplay.

    2) Ditch pomanders and give us a fresh new auxiliary power system. It's Ill Mheg, add in pixie or fouath magicks.

    3) The rare miniboss enemies in EO were one of the few cool additions there, but make them drop some rare treasure.

    4) Make the second weapon upgrade actually BIS for the patch and something competitive to kickstart the 7.4.

    5) Different types of traps, like corridor traps that you can actually see and try to avoid. Special locked rooms that require keys, etc.

    Unlikely, but my biggest want:

For 7.45, with the Blue Mage update, let the job participate in the Deep Dungeons as a solo class. Potentially BST as well, depending on what the limited job actually can do.

For better balancing sake, make them use an exclusive spellbook per deep dungeon, with Water Cannon as a starter and everything else you collect from basic enemies, silver chest drops and boss kills. The next update adds PotD, and subsequent updates adds the rest (because I know they would say adding everything is too much work... :/).

I could be happy for this... until it dawns on me that we're not actually a month away, but three months away since the DD comes in the midway minor patch

... What are the chances of the DD coming for launch or 7.3.1?

    You know bridges from forked?

Do something like that as a zone transition that you can fall and fail

Just in general make the map more interesting than POTD 4.0 with the same boring aetherpool and pomanders

As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    • Lost action system with randomized build options that change from run to run.
    • Floors with adjustable light/darkness settings to change visibility (i.e. lighting lamps to make the floor brighter temporarily).
    • Large tonberries that gank you if you spend too much time on a given floor.
    • Currency options to create shortcuts (i.e. keys, tonberry lamp oil)
    • Option to clear as Alpha, in reference to the Mystery Dungeon series.

A lot of good ideas. In regard to the one thing that keep deep dungeons from being truly epic and engaging in my opinion, I especially do support that the mode needs a power progression feeling, because once you're past the leveling floors, there is no progression beyond floor difficulty, and it makes everything monotonous. Make us get crazy perks and don't hesitate to give us exotic things and buffs to play with.

As for my own hopes I've already summarized them here.

( now watch them serve us Orthos reskinned with nothing more to it )

I'd love if DC didn't wipe my progress.

I think it needs to mix up the formula quite a bit. Introduce new mechanics, new things. Hell, throw in roguelike elements if need to, people love that stuff. Maybe even let people customize their job build with new skills and spells and passives

Make it an area that starts you at level 1 too, so people can level 1-100 with it. That'll garuntee it'll stay populated at least.

As it stands now I know I'll probably never touch it if it stays to the formula. Jobs just don't feel fun enough to take into a deep dungeon because all of them are resource spenders that burst every 2mins.

We know that they're innovating this time! After all, Yoshida said that there'll be a savage-tier boss after floor 99.
