    7.3 Deep Dungeon wishlist

    I know we're less than a month away from the release, but I'm curious of something!
    If you were able to design the Deep Dungeon however you want, what features would you want in it?

    Personally I'd love if they added an element of powerups to jobs that is not generic X% Damage Increase X% Damage Taken Reduced.

    For how bad WoW's Shadowlands was, it was a good thought experiment of how wacky and fun a FFXIV Deep Dungeon can get if the powers we find in the deep dungeon are tailored for our job rather than generic catch all powers.

    Let me know what you'd want from the upcoming Deep Dungeon? It can be absolutely anything!

    I absolutely know that my idea would never be implemented by the current CS3, but it is a nice thought anyway:

    during a run, you can earn a currency by dispatching enemies or doing little tasks like activating objects in the instance. Said currency is only available in this current run (resetting to 0 whenever you start a new save file), and can be spend at a occasionally spawning merchant for Lost Actions (or an appropriately named equivalent). The kind of lost actions offered are randomized, and the more you play the Deep Dungeon, the more variety of actions become available for purchase.

    That way, each run can become a unique experience based on what kind of actions you get, similar to how some roguelites do it. Should work well in a group as well in solo settings, too.
    Also, new patches can even expand that by adding more actions to unlock, or tasks to complete. New expansions should uplift the deep dungeon so it always is relevant evergreen content.

    I'd love if it had a casual mode, even if with less rewards.

    For casual mode I mean being able to leave and go back every floor. I say this because sometimes I simply don't have the time to go up 10 floors straight.

    1. Gamewide change: LB2 now requires only at least 2 party members and LB3 at least 4 and no limit gauge is lost upon the disconnect of a player. If a party Vote Kicks someone, they may attempt to replace that person only via matchmaking, but a secondary timer is now shown that shows for how long a party member would need to remain offline before they can be kicked regardless of any Vote Kick cooldown, and, if a party kicks a player after that time, they may also attempt to replace them via Social List (Friends List, Linkshell, FC List, loaded on demand upon clicking the option). Invite recommendations may be made by any player (including the leader) and confirmed by the party leader.

    2. Drop grid-based area generation in favor of something more organic.

    3. Drop Pomanders in favor of something akin to Lost Actions (though a slightly pared down set, focused on the ones with the most gameplay or role-shifting opportunities rather than just output) or empowered and more customizable Phantom Jobs; ideally, an initial set of options (e.g., a role-adjusting passive, an active skill, and a further gameplay-affecting passive) should be available from the start. Or, since it's Il Mheg, maybe some manner of kiss-curse modifiers.

    4. More conditional/tailored events. E.g., random-encounter-type events upon entering certain rooms... that won't trigger until you've finished your existing fight, healed up and moved at least a little, and give a warning ("You feel the presence of something dangerous nearby... and approaching."); long hallways with less dangerous mobs are more likely to lead to a boulder-chase event that allows you to speedrun through them via CC (letting the boulder finish them off); party may be split by pitfall traps into tailored sets of encounters for each half; etc., etc.

    5. Multiple zone exits that determine what the next floor will be. (Some might involve getting a certain amount of item, favoring stealth. Another may grant bonus resource/currency based on speed of kills. Another may go to a boss fight. Another might have buried treasure. Another may have a puzzle. Etc., etc., each signaled by a particular icon.)

    6. Maybe some interesting artifact (ability-bearing temporary gear) drops? Ideally including some pretty bizarre ones.
