Same. I have a small, and I prefer that size and layout. Offer me a fully functional instanced plot off by itself with some generic scenery? In a heartbeat! Bonus points if they add backdrops at about the same frequency as new housing skins, so you can switch out the background scenery at will, and eventually make it look like anywhere in Eorzea.

When it comes to apartments/FC rooms though, I’d like to see them get their own range of sizes and layouts, rather than just copy/pasting the house interiors through the size remodel they’re talking about. What we have now could be the Small: a Studio apartment, Medium could be a Loft (with stairs going up to an actual built-in loft that allows furniture to be placed on it!) and Large could be a Penthouse: multiple levels, maybe an outdoor balcony or courtyard type area for placing garden plots and outdoor furniture.

I would just love not to have to stare at the giant cutesy monstrocities that are some of the housing skins they implemented. Still mad my view of the ocean was destroyed by some random dude using the giant ugly carbuncle skin on his med plot or the ppl across from me using that awful moogle skin.

Personally I think a medium sized house would be perfect for me but having an instanced house with no demolish timer would be great. I also had a crazy idea of having personal FC wards where there's one large house for the FC in the center and members can occupy the houses around it, which is just a pipe dream but could be cool.

apartment upgrades would be appreciated but no i would not give up my house for it i love to landscape an hate how limited the current system is. i would much prefer just my own solo instance with a massive amount of land that i can build on an add in whatever i would want on to it and to have my house be any size that suits wether that be small or large i just want the option to exist so i can change it freely at my own discretion

Houses give you neighborhoods and places to convene, as well as gardens, but would you give it all away to have a mansion-sized apartment and no longer be bound to the housing timer?

I thought this would be a fun discussion in terms of what exactly people want most in a housing experience.

If I can do that (which is essentially instanced housing) with my FC estate and keep the workshop and everything, yes, without hesitation.
Ideally you could even still have yards or external balconies on apartment type housing, you'd just not see the landscape outside populated by players in real time (much like in the inns like Tulliyolal)

Yep, I sure would (if you replace apartment with instanced plot). Even Perfect World added in instanced housing plots that also serve some function other than being showroom gallery tat, and that's an 18 years old Chinese f2p game. Neighbourhoodly vibes don't matter one dot when the ward you're in is dead. For that to be viable reasoning would take an actually thriving game, or at least enough people that give a damn about housing for real. Feels like I've been the sole caretaker of the stables where my Shirogane apartment is located for the last 5 years if not longer. Hate seeing it grubby though...

I guess the ward where my house is at does have a neighbour that's built across to my rooftop for purposes as yet unknown. Haven't seen anyone partying up there though. So yeah, instanced house plot I can't lose while unsubbed thx (never happening).
