I think the returning rewards are fine. I wish the amor sets were something harder to obtain, like for example drops from some alliance raid.
But I agree with the OP that the earring is kind of a let down.

I don't get the point of the Neo-Ishgardian gear being mogtome rewards when those sets were recycled as vendor/crafting/quest reward gear in EW. The default colors are different, but I think that's the only difference.
It won the armor gear design content quite a few years ago, so they tend to recycle the winners every event. Yeah, it's p boring as a reward since it's cheaper to buy from mb now.
TBH I feel like they didn't want the rewards to be too unique, otherwise ppl will feel FOMO, so devs decided well earrings it is forever.
All gear and housing items in these events seem to be based on player designs that won contests. You might think it's to give recognition to those people, but they make zero mention of that fact. If you are a player who pays attention to those things you are probably quite aware how these things are normally obtained and that 99% of time it is easier to obtain them from the usual content, craft them yourself or purchase them from the market board. It seems to me more people know how to get them than know they are player designs. They whole thing feels like a trap for very new players.

I never bothered with the earrings, mostly because I can barely even see them on my own character because headgear and hairstyle.
The rewards are for more casual players but also for free trial players as they can get early access through these tomestone events for mounts. Like if a person is on a free trial account right now, they can get access to the ruby gwiber and the ironfrog mover mounts even though they otherwise can't access shadowbringers content. I can even attest to that being a thing for years, like I remember when my account was free trial and the level cap was 35, had to grind sunken temple of qarn 17 times just to get the Ixion Clarion (stormblood fate content).
While we're in here talking about the event and how it works, let me just say this event should be running all the time, with rewards and content tied to it cycled regularly to hold interest. This game was dry and crusty until 1 AM when the event launched, then all of a sudden people were logging on who hadn't been on in a week+, and dudes I know who normally spend all day gooning were actually making groups to go and play the game.
Game's got over a decade of content in it and the devs give their players -no- reason to backtrack and engage with any of it once it stops being relevant; they'd rather sit and do nothing for months at a time while players unsub and quit during the 4 month content gaps. It's gamedev malpractice. And it's not even hard to do. Just do more mogtome events. Don't even gotta reinvent the wheel. There's no reason to make these so rare when you offer basically nothing else in terms of "events that incentivize playing the older content available," but I digress.
I didn't mind the rewards this time, personally. Back when I played au ra, the earrings felt like a nothingburger, but ever since I fanta'd I've enjoyed them a lot more. I think ... in a perfect world, these events would be monthly, and there would be multiple unique/new items put into them. I don't think this is a terrible ask, but I know that our current devteam is given a skeleton crew because the parent company is cheap. This isn't meant to excuse them; it's just the apparent reality according to what's said and what isn't said in various interviews and things. But yeah, my "feedback" on this is that I want more events like these. Hell, take the Khloe book and just make it a permanent fixture tied to everyone's character. Then adjust the rewards so people wanna do it for more than the EXP/jackpot odds. idk. Just give my friends a reason to log back in.
Indeed, this never made any sense to me. I always use the preview on glam items, and the earrings are basically invisible.
I like this events. They give me a good reason to dust off some my less played characters to add a new mount to their list. And since I do not participate in any form of end game content, my main also always finds something interesting on the list.Second, who is this for? You would expect it to be for endgame players waiting for the new patch - something to hold players over during the content drought, but it seems to instead always be for sprouts. I'm not sue I understand why this is, as sprouts are much less effected by content droughts.
If this makes me a sprout in your book - well, then I'm a sprout. Is there a way to reactivate that symbol on my character?
Even those aren't really all that great; MGP has a finite amount of things to spend it on(my husband has been capped on it for some time now due to nothing to buy) and the maps end up being an annoyance due to the mass stockpiling that occurs thanks to the mogtomes having pretty much no other real worthwhile thing to spend them on(it's not fun when you want to run Cenote for the cool new rewards but can't because all your friends are too busy burning through their stockpile of old mogtome maps)
I think they wouldn't feel so bleh if it weren't for how stingy the EW mogtome rewards felt compared to the ShB ones. The mogtome rewards throughout ShB just felt overall nicer and more worthwhile, by the end of ShB over half of the Kamuys had been featured and we also got an actual decently visible, dyable glam item with the Inferno Jacket. Meanwhile Endwalker gave us more barely-visible accessories that couldn't be Armoire'd(some of them repeats from ShB mogtome events), and only a single Dragon was featured.

I look just like the roes next door... if you happen to live next door to an amusement park.
Usually, I skip the 100 reward since I'm not a huge fan of earrings overall, but I like the coffee cup since it reminds me of my fav IRL drinks tea.
Also, I'll pick up any missing minions but I'm OK with most rewards so far.
