As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

Personally, I just the MSQ to be amazing again. I mean, I didn't hate Dawntrail - I'm one of the few here who enjoyed my playthrough of it and didn't really reflect on the issues until afterward. But that's the point really - I enjoyed it well enough, but is that enough?
I want the game to make me feel the excitement/emotion/intrigue and overall investment in the story that I felt during Stormblood (sorry, but I loved SB) Shadowbringers and Endwalker again. I want to get lost in the story and feel the need to rewatch the cutscenes and watch reaction videos afterward again.

MSQ wise:
- make the overall MSQ shorter, but more impactful.
- give us more gameplay elements to do in between all those cutscenes. Minigames, smaller fights, anything to break up the constant stream of story.
- implement branching paths, we have NG+, so players can experience every angle. Make replaying it actually enticing.
Core gameplay wise:
- make classes more interesting to play.
Battle content wise:
- Bring alternatives to "room with boss" endgame encounters earlier. Deep Dungeons and Field Instances were popular for a reason.
- dont just reiterate previous content, improve on what was there and expand the possibilities (e.g. an actual roguelike mode for Deep Dungeons).
- Try to implement additional endgame avenues.
- stop reworking older dungeons and use that dev time to give the players more new max level dungeons.
RIP Viper 28/06/2024 - 30/07/2024. It was a fun month.

Make the open world more engaging and improve on the FATE system. Add some danger to mobs, add drops worth going for, give me a reason to go back to zones after completing their story.
My list:
- For DRG, focus and expand on the aesthetic (jumps, dragon powers, flashy and acrobatic spear animations) and functional (oGCD management and animation locks, long looping GCD string, line attacks, gauge management and positionals) themes instead of eroding and reducing them.
- More damage profiles for jobs: not all of them need to solely focus on 2-minute bursts. Moreover, improve the filler of jobs so that they're not all so dull and empty. Some jobs can keep such fillers if it fits their theme but it shouldn't be the majority.
- Follow the general "low skill floor, high skill ceiling" mindset when designing job rotations.
- Raise the buff cap in all duties except the overworld.
- Gear designed with all races in mind so that ears and tails are not constantly hidden.
- Expanded and varied character creator options in general and specifically: plenty and different types of beards for the face types of all races, more sliders where appropriate, having the option to choose whether to have darkened ear tips and which color and shape on male miqo'te regardless of haircut, having a slightly higher max height as male miqo'te (1.80 instead of the current 1.73), giving Keepers the option to have those physical traits that they're meant to have (such as fluffier ears), letting Seekers have longer fangs but limited to medium size while letting Keepers to choose their size as compensation, tail accessories either as options or actual cosmetic items to collect...
- Improving the graphical update on the characters. Several elements on the heads are still low quality such as face paint and male miqo'te markings below the eyes, as well as blemishes around the face. Fix the male miqo'te face type 1 upper lip looking darker and different (has barely distinguishable creases) than the lower one. Improve hair overall (DT haircuts have way better quality than older ones) and especially the hair on the ears of miqo'te, as it remains mostly the same as before the upgrade.
- Improve the bodies of characters to match the changes to the faces. It's jarring to have higher quality faces and gear with low quality bodies.
- Cross DC party finder and duty finder within the same region.
- Make all gear in the game dyeable with double channels and higher quality like the DT outfits.
- A glamour log in which all gear appearances can be stored and achievements tied to it to promote collecting everything and to revive all content in the game.
- More glamour plates (one per job minimum) and letting haircuts and other aesthetician options be tied to plates.
- Free up glamour restrictions with the exception of battle job artifact gear if desired.
- More longer spears for DRG.
- Allowing limited jobs to become actual full ones while keeping their limited mode as it is now as an option.
- Following the structure of Bozja, at least one normal alliance raid and an additional hard one within each Exploratory Zone area.
- More Variant/Criterion and Chaotic Alliance Raids.
- More animations and poses for jobs.
- More varied and crazy builds when it comes to actions specific to Exploratory Content. Additionally, fix actions breaking the rotational flow of some jobs.
- Eliminate the level restriction of glamour as long as you can equip both pieces and add more toggleable options for gear.
- A couple of simple tank tops with no extra elements like tattoos or belts as well as more bandanas (that don't hide miqo'te ears!). Additionally, unlock the hempen set.
- Voicelines for all battle content and more voiced content in the MSQ and important questlines like the normal and Alliance raids'.
- Give bicolor gemstones as a reward for completing the FATE challenge log entries.
- Do not stop releasing a type of content due to negative reaction. Iterate and improve on it instead by using player feedback (e. g. how Exploratory Missions were not included in EW or Criterion in DT as of today, as well as no further mention of CARs).

Well, it's a safe bet out of all of this only the emotes and glam/dye slots will happen, like any of the other piecemeal additions.Gameplay & Quality of life
- Friendslist needs a rework
- More space in linkshells, chat ui needs a rework too, along with chat bubbles that are coming
- Remove time limit from exploration modes
- invest in a DM-mode for larger groups roleplaying, with systems to lay down markers for more than 8 people at a time, and other flavor improvements to roleplay dungeon mastering
- More "vanilla" emotes, that most of the npc's already can do. So we can express our characters better. Simple leans, daily actions, drinking out of bottles etc
- More glamslots
- More dyeslots
- Furniture maximum limit increase for housing
- Housing system needs more mobility and smoothness
- Make believable settlements in the open world, make them and the hubs feel alive with OPEN BUILDINGS, minigames, hangout spots, remove the philosophy of closing doors to every location.
- Make the open world feel more dangerous and rewarding, encouraging grouping up while questing
- Introduce more job identity, flavor skills that work in the open world and in dungeons / raids or are there just for visual flavor
- Innovation of your quests. Introduce minigames, more archery? gunnery? shooting a ball through a hoop? A footrace against npc's with similar mechanics as chocobo racing? Dance games? Timing games? Memory games? Guess which coconut the ball is under? Swimming contest, jump puzzles, anything.
- More focus on exploration and traveling on foot, and not by aetheryte and flying, unless flying receives somekind of extra care. Adventuring takes time, its not a shopping trip.
- More character customization
- Tone down the glam to be more job oriented fantasy, general fantasy and city-state fantasy for a while
Improvements to the game will garner goodwill and also increase cash shop sales. While now in this drought and era of unfulfilled potential people look at your cash shop in a hostile manner. Make people want to support your company by showing them that you are investing money into the game they pay for monthly.
Work on your communication with your fanbase and communicate with roadmaps and future plans instead of keeping us in the dark until the very last moment
The exploration time limit is just an arbitrary failsafe to inhibit people from afking or no-lifing as much.
Just about every wish I'd want to make has already been put down. So here is just one.
I wish the Lalafell teleport animation would finally be adjusted a little so that the hand doesn't clip into the face anymore.

Oh I forgot a big one: every new piece of gear that comes out from 8.0 onward is automatically dyeable and has both dye channels.

Your avatar looks awesome!
This made me chuckle. Thx!![]()
