yeah, more alt support!!

in eso your ID is your account and not each character own their own. so on your friendlist you dont just have a character but the account. which means you can switch between characters and have access to the same friendlist. (and also to all 5 guilds you can join)
now its obviously programmed completely different but still i would love a shared friend list and i think it would be nice for linkshells as well.

shared glam dresser is an amazing idea.... they should absolutely build that in if they ever come around to give us a proper glam storage/catalogue/collection/wardrobe.... hey dreaming is allowed.
would also solve the issue with shop glams only getting bought for a single character.... or do i have to assume this company is hungry for money?

back to topic: a shared inventory is something i would like as well and a good point to start.

oh man yes, i didn't even want to bring up the mogstation stuff being single character for everything except a few mounts (same for the merch related minions) because that's a whole nother frustration. (anything you have to pay real money for should be account wide by default, especially for how much they're charging with these glam sets)
and I love the sound of that shared friendlist and the shared glam dresser! it reminds me of how bnet works for wow currently. that you can have character specific friends but also bnet friends that can be viewed no matter the character (or sub account) you're on, and the collection system there.

not like it would motivate me to do more of them seeing how absurdly overscaled some are and also very boring and unoriginal overall. but i think it would be propriate since its the player who did the achievements and not the character.

So glad I'm not alone in thinking this. This is a huge hinderance for me bothering to do content, I will admit. The game has a ton of things to offer, not all of it is going to fit a single character - in fact, most of it doesn't, so I'm not motivated to bother collecting or doing content. Only here still due to RP and my stories being tied to it, really.

I truly wish story requirement wasn't a thing if you finished MSQ on your main. The fact that content is locked is ridiculous. At the very LEAST remove that block so if we do want to farm something specific for an alt, we don't need to go through story every single time. Even skipping through it takes forever and is utterly pointless.

With WoW going to the warband system where everything is shared between alts, this game seems to be on the opposite end of the spectrum.
At the very least, we should be able to friend our alts, send mail/items/gil between alts, invite alts to our fc’s, and have more account-wide mounts and glam items, especially mog station stuff.

The shared chest should be like Destiny 2's where all of your glams, weapons (In Desinty 2's case, Ghost shells and Sparrows) and such can be shared between all of your characters, that would go a long way of reusing older gear for your alts working their way up the msq. Destiny 2 also has a collection system where it cost a few tomes (Legendary Shards in D2) equivalent to get any gear and weapon you have collected in the game so far anytime you want, even out on the field.


All Mogstation purchases should be accountwide, I really hate having to buy the same glams over and over for my alts, so sometimes I'm forced to pay three times so that three of my characters can have a specific Mogstation glam. SE can't use the excuse of glams not being able to be made accountwide when I have a glam that is accountwide, the Far Eastern Journey set that was an Amazon preorder bonus for Stormblood and all of my characters get it when I create them.

The biggest bar for entry for a lot of people with alts is how much msq you have to do the sheer size of it in this game now is too much, the only way of skipping this is buying your way through which you have to both pay for the msq progression and job progression, Honestly it's ridiculous to expect someone to pay over $40 just to level and progress a alt (not even to max level to 90), while they're also paying for a Sub and paying for new expansions.

People have said "well you can level all jobs on one character" but you know what you can't do on one character? you can't gear them all at the same time because the gearing system is bad, you can't travel from eu to na for some reason. I honestly do think a Alt system is more fun for a lot of people who do enjoy making a lot of characters and it should be somewhat viable to have a alt without having to either pay frankly a ridiculous amount of money or go slowly through the msq.

Im fully against more Support for alts, you can already play every class with one Char (Which i still think is a bad decision) but when they start to support more alts the complain will shift to "why cant i only farm gear on my main and make it acc bound" etc because people are greedy

One Char is more as enough and that comes from someone which has 4 Chars and plays them active

Why are you against? Would this diminish your, personal play somehow?
And "you can already play every class with one Char" is a poor reason, when game allows me to make 8 characters on a single World.
I'm not even going to touch "One Char is more as enough", because who you are to claim that for other players?...

In SWTOR, players have Legacy bank - you can put shareable items there, so any alt on that server can access that. Not to mention you can simply mail stuff between your alts.
FFXIV unwillngless to implement this (both or either) is such a bizzare thing imo.

I always thought that not being able to send mails to my other chars was some technical limitation. Now that I read that it is technically possible, I find this even more absurd (yes, you could only befriend your alts through a glitch years ago - but obviously having alts on your friend list does not set the servers on fire, so technically it's possible).

And no, one char is definitely not enough - I currently have 14 chars, which I all play whenever the mood strikes me.
