I think the issue has gone past the original event and has now become a social hub center for all worlds. They have said they are here to stay. The problem is not them being on Bismark and having fun, the problem is it interferes with others game play. A simple solution of an extra instance would keep both parties happy. We all pay subs. Also, I'm pretty sure they have stated the event will last as long as people show up for it. I don't think there is an actual end date, from the organizer. It's not even like they are distancing themselves, they are still actively participating in it.

I'm pretty sure the intention was to be a very SFW party, but people have gotten so comfortable with it that it became the norm.
I'm not against data center travel and OCE being the hub for all worlds, but at least have some fucking decency to the locals in there.

I'm pretty sure the event organizer themselves were not aware of just how MASSIVE this event would have become, so I wouldn't blame them cause of how the party-goers decided its time be sex pests in:
1) an ARR zone.
2) an ARR zone that is MSQ required.
3) an ARR zone with two job quests in it (so its not just MSQ but also unlocking job abilities).

You know its bad when its preferrable to have bots that are underground and you can at least access the zone than the literal players who are tourists and causing zone congestion

After reading through the thread, random thought just hit me that they should just add another world/data center like they did with Shadow DC on EU. World added on OCE that noone can create a character on/home world transfer to, but exists as extra zone space and therefore doesn't affect login queue/local population. I saw a few posts on twitter about people wanting to do different themes of the same type of event so other/different zones could be capped in the future so just adding extra Costa instances even if possible (not sure if they can add it just for 1 world and not have to toggle it globally), isn't a permanent solution to the problem.

I think the only solution is to host another event but on another world. And I have the idea on which two worlds could be the next hosts.

Funny enough, a lot of people wouldn't expect this but there's a decent amount of people that are in post-ShB (I've seen them in Bozja) that still don't know about world visit or dc travel so it makes me smile when they think someone in ARR/HW zones would know. They likely wouldn't be following people on twitter at that point, likely not deep in a FC, and would just barely be looking up content on youtube for dungeon/trial guides if that. Likely how it ended up on reddit if I had to guess. Outside of having someone randomly shout in chat in various zones that they may be at, there's no way to directly reach that population and that's assuming hopping even fixed their specific issue.

World Visit and DC Travel isn't universally known about, but it's far more known about than it was when it released. A lot of sprouts are aware of it, but generally these are sprouts that got into a Free Company, have a veteran friend that plays, or found their way into the Novice Network or discord. This is a significant amount of new players, but it's not all of them and many of them fall through the cracks, and struggle to find the social environment that teaches them basic things about the game - which is actually why Fellowships were made, because clueless sprouts are likely to explore the menus to find things in many cases, and it's a good place to advertise something useful to them.

Whoa, does it actually not let you teleport into those zones entirely? I've never seen that happen and I've been around in some very congested places over the years.

This happened to me a few years back when tons of Wanderers and Travelers were clogging up the same beach on Balmung. I just wanted to get my ninja job quests done in a nearby area and couldn't even get in due to congestion. Had to go to another world to do it.

Friendly reminder to everyone reading that there were cloud datacenters tested specifically to alleviate the congestion issue, and they worked really really well, but then all of a sudden square just stopped talking about them.

Looking at the responses after what happened, this is in no way the fault of the event creator. The event went from their party to a social gathering. It's like if you decided to host a party at a public park and you start cleaning up, but a bunch of people decide to stay and start hanging out.
I think it's more telling of the state of the game currently that people started to act like this because someone finally made a space that they can hang out in a game that's supposed to be a massively multiplayer online game.
(The more concerning thing about the event deals with things that start with m that I won't get in trouble for talking about here)
