Perhaps a new option to alleviate the issues being faced by locals, since the other more cordial options have been dismissed - To enter "OCE", individuals generally need a valid visa and passport. The specific fees associated with entering "OCE" depend on the type of visa and the individual's circumstances. SE needs to implement stronger Border control and to start charging an exorbitant Gil fee for voyagers to enter and/or remain, perhaps even an extra sub like retainers to cover rent and living expenses. Once the visa expires, time to get deported. Thank you for flying with Materia Aetheryte Services, its time to go.
ObscuraFi has a good post a few down from mine. They didn't anticipate that players would gather in the same area and remain there. Is it DC travel as it was intended? I thought the DC travel was to alleviate congestion on NA/JP/EU worlds and people could come to OCE to do their MSQ/content. Not gather together on a handful of zones and afk/gpose/erp in the hundreds? I dont have a problem with people who come from different DCs and actually help OCE with content - pvp/msq/trials/raids whatever. This is just disruptive and inconsiderate, especially as it isn't just a one off night but ongoing.
But my point was there's also not really a rule against it. It is disruptive, but they can't punish players for not doing anything wrong.
I could see a sort of way to get around things is by announcing a maintenance for that zone on that server/DC for some extended amount of time. We see per-zone maintenance often enough that it's not highly unusual. It would be a bit sus being so focused after this instance and I'm sure people would look at it askance, but it would also be a subtle way for them to encourage certain behavior. It wouldn't stop people from going back when it's back up but some at least might get the message.
Yoshi-P could also put out one of those black and white Dad is Disappointed With You lodestone messages telling people to knock it off and go home.
