Whats the point of getting better Gear?

1) People asking for more difficult content.
2) People also asking for overgear to be more significant.

Go figure.

And its three different groups really. Group A wants overgearing and unsynching to trivalize hard content. Group B wants more difficult content but doesn't want unsynching. Group C wants overgearing, unsynching, and difficult content.
