I am currently using a wired connection.
The rate seems to be rather frequent (once every five or so seconds) where the game lags up on me.
happens with any character.
The problem itself was an issue before getting the VPN. I had hoped it would have helped the frequent freeze ups, but it didn't. Still it can be turned off so that isn't a concern.
The lag happens about anywhere while playing. Town, dungeon, overworld. anywhere.
The ISP I believe is Charter Communications.
