TBF Yoshi-p said take breaks, not unsub FFXIV. Also, if anyone really loves their house, it's something they need to personally consider if that sub fee is worth it every month.
I agree that they should get rid of the timer or, at least, make it longer.
Like two whole months minimum. 45 days is such a weird split in the middle. What's the problem with making it at least 60 days?
Long story short, I just hate that they keep players who built up houses and workshops hostage with this. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Me too, Erenville, me too
I've had enough time to think of a realistic solution to this, that would work on a technical level:
1. Detach houses from plots, so that everyone can have a house and it's permanent. They just teleport directly inside it. Their house only exists in the moment they teleport to it, otherwise it's just unloaded from SQEX's database.
2. Wards can be a reflection of active users. If someone hasn't logged in for 45 days, their house can be detached from the plot and they can try to re-attach it to one when they login again. If they can't find a plot, they can still teleport inside their permanent house.
3. In case there are no desirable plots available, Island Sanctuary can be made as an alternative location.
4. An additional section could be added to each ward with just mansion plots. Since these plots are overwhelmingly popular, we may as well have "rich estates".
See, I do not think having unlimited houses is a problem. It's just database storage and that grows with every new character already. The problem is that wards are actual server programs and they can't run unlimited of these. So what I explained would solve that problem while still allowing wards to exist as a concept.
just go alpha or raiden. These have hundreds of free plots and you can still visit shiva/play with your shiva friends
I feel like it should be aligned with patch duration. Anyone that comes for every patch has the right to keep its house. So 19 weeks minus the 4 weeks of sub. 15 weeks.
This is (unfortunately) impossible as long as the system remains as it is. People are already struggling to get houses - so if we make these timescales even longer, it's going to be terrible.
In absolute terms I completely agree that it should be longer, but as things stand it would be a problem.
