Decline in game quality and surge in cheaters. The amount of people insta reacting to mechanics even before they fully unfold and making out microscopic safe spots in between (normally hidden) telegraphs is getting a little silly. Feels like P....shXIV is now standard-issue.

The big question for me is why they keep blowing their resources on tryhard content without having an anti-cheat.

Yeah i agree, i know how to sit in microscopic safespots because I engage in content often and I play lots of high-end content. I've seen VERY FEW cheaters. Seems like a skill issue to me, ngl.

Also, we all know the truth, anti-cheat would result in a mass-exodus of players. Not because of cheating, but because of mods and QoL plugins that we know millions of players use. It would kill what's left of the RP/ERP scene and people would not be happy to lose their QoL that they love.

HOW will working in multiple other projects taking away time from the project he's SUPPOSED to be leading benefit 14 again?
If 10 other projects earn enough money then they might throw a dime towards 14 that paid for all of those 10 projects?

I hope nobody buys the incoming FF9 remake, and I hope they sit on it like Smaug on top of his hoarde of gold to keep it on console for 5 years and ban it from PC and wonder AGAIN. "Where are the sales at"
I might be keeping my sub on for social stuff, and my houses, but I sure as heck am not opening my wallet for any other Square projects until they focus on 14 first.

And you know what the most insulting part is? They are using constant WEASEL WORDS, deflecting any commitment to actually fixing issues. It's just "Yeah, we know things are happening" dot dot dot... "Yeah, its gonna benefit us in the end" dot dot dot...

Not "Yeah we are aware and we are working on fixing it, by doing this and that."

A cynic might suggest that getting the director as far away from 14 as possible might allow fresh leadership to halt the death spiral.

I guess he meant that making yoship handle other (non mmorpg) projects give him new experience or insight? Which he can then applied to ff14.

That was the intention but instead it just bled 14 into other games. Like 16 was just a story rail shooter with what honestly felt like more cutscenes than actual gameplay.

Yep! It's also total bullshit. That said, I really don't know if Yoshi-P is the right person for the job anymore... i mean, i know there are budget issues which comes from corporate but also, replacing or majorly changing parts of the formula for the game should be doable. The things that are no longer working, replace them.

Thought it could also lead to diluting the product with focus taken away from FFXIV means more things will slip through the cracks and well, look at the game as it is right now

I just did some lateral reading on it because the inflammatory headline felt kind of misleading.
