And one of the consequences of stubbornly rejecting and ignoring the changes the audience wants to see is potentially not having a game to design fights for at all. It’s more than just job design of course, but Dawntrail’s numbers are slipping. It might not be the death of XIV right now, but they need to respond to the wound now.

It’s like getting a large gash. Is that an immediate threat to your life? No. But you can either dress the wound so it heals quickly and without complications, or you can ignore it and risk possible infection and festering of the wound. The wound should’ve been dressed sooner, but there’s still time to treat it before the only solution becomes amputation.
