7.3 is insufficient (Relic,Deep Dungeon and Cosmic Exploration has to carry 4 Months)

Those who know me on the Forums, I'm generally the person who is mostly positive while still critical about things.

Today I am unfortunately checking myself in the mostly Negative Section of the discussion.

This is unacceptable.

1 Week's worth of a MSQ (Dungeon and Trial) AT BEST.
An Unreal which let's be honest does anybody really get excited for Unreals? They are just upscaled old EX's they don't do anything differently. Hell most of them are probably easier since you have 30 additional levels of answers for level 70 problems.

An Alliance Raid. Which isn't really engaging content, it's a FF11 Theme Park ride.

A New Treasure Hunt Dungeon, which is all well and good except you're gonna be traversing the hollow husk of Living Memory every time you're doing treasure hunts with friends.

So what does that leave?

Cosmic Exploration will have a new planet to visit and the new Beast Tribe. So Crafters will have interesting stuff to do.

Deep Dungeon, with some sort of 4 Man boss at the end. Who's gonna be doing a Deep Dungeon everyday outside the people who are already really incredible at it?

Like who's DOING it Doing it... and not just sticking their head in for a look see? Because that's what I'm gonna do - and it won't even really be that far.

And a Relic Grind. (which could literally be anything)

Silver lining, don't get me wrong, lots of nice Quality of Life stuff coming in this and future. Got the cool raid planner thingy, Chat bubbles, Vierra and Hrothgars will be able to wear some amount of headwear that's a win. The housing resizing thing.

In fact, Dawntrail has had a lot of many amazing Quality of Life features added this expansion.

I'm angry and I'm disappointed. I felt like 7.2 did a good job. I wasn't harsh on 7.1 because I knew 7.2 was gonna have good stuff and it did.

Now 7.3 is basically 7.1.2 We're going backwards in content.

I'm tired of having patches that are MSQ for a week and then fucking nothing for 4 months. If you don't have enough content for a Four Month window the dev team needs to change course and go back to Three Months. Four Months is too long.

Why can't I have a Criterion dungeon for 750 gear alternatives? Why isn't that in here? WHY isn't a Variant/Criterion maybe a part of what a Relic Grind... COULD Actually be?

I don't know it's my gut reaction. I know people are more receptive to negativity than positivity lately and I don't want to pour gasoline on the fire but this isn't good enough. I've been critical where I needed to be and this isn't it. I do encourage ultimately anybody who enjoys the content to continue to do so. I'm still going to but I'm very disappointed at this content cadence.

First of all, you're not going to get every piece of content day 1. It's going to be staggered.
Second, sometimes it's ok to just not sub for a month or two. There are plenty of other games, which want to be played.
Third, you've listed quite an amount of content. It just feels less to you, cause you're just not interested in most of these thus not in the game.

That's not even the argument being made. SE keeps auto-demo on because they know people will stay subbed to keep a house they had to fight for and spend ages trying to get.

People also really need to stop falling back on "if you don't like it, leave" and start holding the devs/creators accountable for not holding up to their end of creating content that people pay a monthly subscription for. As big as XIV is, there's no reason that someone should be forced to take a break from the game, because SE can't provide content. And that's literally what it's come down to.

But please, continue to tell people to quit the game because the dev team can't, and won't, do their job, and you want to be offended on Yoshi P's behalf and think your sub money is being well spent on not getting anything from it.

I mean sure, keep paying your sub and complain on the forums. That will surely change their mind. I've been complaining as much as others here. But it still makes no sense to keep forcing yourself into a game, where you dont find any joy. You could fill your time with another game and have a great time.
Also don't pretend like the forums are such a great place to find a good middle ground. It's not.
