Can we not derail the thread with this casual vs. hardcore divide? My point is that there should be an option for both playstyles, just like there is with most other content in the game.

I agree with you OP, Normal mode would be the right way to go. Unfortunately, I'm betting that they instead will just do some bandaid fixes to FT and leave it at that. Having ~400 clears across all servers is really an embarrassment and should be an indicator to them that their design was an unmitigated failure, so I would not be surprised if they just completely abandon this concept by the next stage and just do something else (perhaps a Normal of whatever's next) and don't waste their resources trying to tinker with this further. I'm not saying that's the right thing to do, but that's what I'm expecting them to do.

Like I don't disagree with you that I would like more challenging 4 man raids, but not at the cost of people who enjoy BA/DRS/FT. We should have all this content available to us. I just want to remind you that when Dawntrail came out, and the dungeons were 5% harder than Endwalker's, people were posting hard and angry on how they didn't sign up to play Dark Souls. Content that right now most people just disassociate their way through, the vitriol against savage players then was incredible cuz they thought Yoshi P was trying to appeal to us.

It's not the hardcore people who are stealing or dumbing down normal content so Square appeals to them. It's CBU3 who did that because it's frankly cheaper to design it that way. it's easier to balance even if it's boring as hell.

I'm calling you out as being toxic because you want to hurt other players and the content they enjoy. It's not our fault, we don't own CBU3 or tell them what to do. Countless people who play savage are angry that the jobs feel brainless, you could have mastery over Black Mage in savage and it'd felt like a point in pride whereas now it feels like whatever. These changes were not made with the wishes of raiders in mind, they were done for the sake of cost.

Then when I suggested content should be cancelled (demolition paused) until they could catch up with casual cause 'you' just glibly called casuals toxic. Meanwhile we've been putting up with having our shit 'actually' cancelled 'for good'. No reprieve.

Instead it's just totally un-self-aware cluelessness.

The game itself I found interminably boring, and i always felt dissociated from this thing everyone raved about.
But I found reading and hearing about the corrupt shenanigans of octogenarian Sepp Blatter at the helm of $1 billion operation with $1.5B 'cash' reserves absolutely fascinating. He was in the news every other day. The outrageous wrinkly grey haired balls of the man! It was fascinating.
It was the end of an era when he left and soccer once again became an interminably boring parade of prima donnas with glass ankles and stupid haircuts, that I had no interest in.

And unlike FT, I can actually get involved in these forums. I'm not being glib with that last bit either.
That is the VERY real reality. I tried twice to get into FT. It was just tree people including me on one occasion, and less than 10 on the next occasion. Peak gaming time. It was absolutely hopeless. That was well into the event, you can guess I hardly speed ran my way to 20. From there do you think I was then going to make any further 'effort' or attempts to get in? Only to probably be called a sniper, not healed and left dead in the floor? No. Just total absence of motivation for that. Quickly forgotten.

No. These forms are the stuff they orbit is fascinating though.
