cool finally breaking parts of the body will help out alot and will help with not stacking classes to do a content. so this time i dont wanna see 6 blms 1 whm and 1 tank doing contenet to complete. people in this game need to expand thier strats out more instead if going for the easy win.
Halleluiah, this kinda of thing puts ARR above the rest in my opinion.
I might be confused but, were we supposed to have something like that in 1.0 as well?Good evening!
We checked in with the monster team and they let us in on some interesting incapacitation details!
In A Realm Reborn it will be possible to incapacitate some bosses and this will play a role in the overall battle strategy. As an example, we are currently looking into features where if you break off a monster's horn, their attack pattern will change, etc.
We are also reviewing options that allow users to target parts of the monster that can be incapacitated and make it so the graphics will change if you successfully incapacitate that part.
Finally, incapacitation can be accomplished through both physical attacks and magic attacks.
Will work only for bosses or most mobs as well?
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)
Now if only BLM could get a rain of missiles type of spell to hit multiple spots of a boss body![]()
This was one of the cool parts of the combat system here, Hit the bastard hard and knock something off!!
and laugh at it..*like the goats i love makeing them a uni-horns lol*
"I care nothing about who dominates the land, For me and my brethren will forever rule the skies." Forgo the Forgotten Dragoon
Credit goes to Denmo and Nique from Masamune for this art :3
I would LOVE to see some kind of elemental synergy implemented. For example, if you hit a mob with some water magic, and then follow up with Lightning, it will do extra damage. But that might be too complicated to handle in an MMO I dunno ^^; (At the very least, I'd like to see BLM have access to all elements instead just the basic 3)
Glad to see magic can incapacitate now as well. This could create some interesting applications for Ninja - perhaps make Ninjutsu specifically designed for enfeebling or quick incapacitation? It would certainly fit with the Assassin motif of the job. It also helps with job overlap, which was a bit of a problem in FFXI - too many jobs filling the same role with slightly different flavor.
We already have graphical representation of incaps with changes in attack behaviour in the ifrit fight. So whats the deal here folks? they announce a feature we already have and we're excited for it?
Like 90% of the incaps that are currently in-game not only have no visible change on the enemy, they don't seem to much, if anything, for doing it. On top of that, the only way to know which WS incaps what part is to look up a little chart on the lodestone rather than it being intuitive, and having to stand on certain sides is nebulous sometimes (Outer: Other is very vague).
Just seems to me that they are making the whole thing easier to understand and more intuitive. Targeting body parts directly is already a huge step up.
I think a couple people thought that incaps would be going away, too, so this just reassures them that that is not the case.
