In which case, I'd say: fantastic! That's one of the coolest aspects of GW2's open world. Though I'd also bring in GW2's system of announcing these, with little grey-ish text under a mob's name, like "Ranged area debuffs, charging attacks" and so on.
The way I was thinking of it, they'd each have unique names, but a barely-sufficient degree of similarity in subtle telegraphs and maybe even a not-quite-too-complex icon* to the left of the cast-bar and/or appearing above the mob's nameplate during the wind-up.

*E.g., an arrow line entering a circle with a ripple emanating from the center fading towards the subtle edge of the circle for a proximity-based ranged AoE, perhaps with a particular color for the debuff it can cause -- green for poison, purple for paralysis, red-orange for burning, red for bleeding, steely silver for Physical Vulnerability, blue-steel for Magical Vulnerability, etc., where those colors would then be consistent gamewide and shiftable and augmentable for color blindness -- and a sort of flame-graphic from the edge if there's a persisting ground-effect.

(Honestly, I'd also be tempted to have these icons, etc., only show as one's Bestiary grows unless a SCH uses Libra --if that skill were returned-- on them to reveal type and telegraphs without Bestiary requirements or, if already there, cause them to appear earlier.)
