I didn't think of it at first, but starting every fight with full TP means I, as a Monk, get to dragonkick a mob's head in to start the fight.
This makes me happier than it should.

Yup, this will be much better than hit and 4 sec wait.

This will be key I think..
With more Mob HP, battles will last longer and players will really get to explore the combat system.
Not to mention that buffing/debuffing magic will actually have a place in the game - (as well as all that 'resist' materia that's worthless atm)

Woah, never thought that I would actually use riot blade as a pulling tool!Starting with full TP doesn't seem like much of an "exteme". Mages start with full MP.
It kind of makes more sense this way.
Current System: "Man I'm tired from all this resting, I wont be able to do epic moves till I start bashing on stuff"
New 2.0 System: "RAWR!!!!"
As someone who plays PLD mostly. I'll gladly start a fight with Def Down.
Now maybe we can convince them to reset all cooldowns between fights /jk
Having TP and MP on similar patterns will make balancing much more easier.
Especially for PVP.
Exactly what I mean. It'll be more like XI where you actually had to spend a minute or two on a mob where skillchains were key 80% of the time...at least at lower levels. If fights are similar to how that Limit Break sequence went at the end of the 2.0 gameplay video then I'm all in.This will be key I think..

I seriously hope notI hate how its just spam spam spam and no strat what so ever atm...
I actually like to use my brain when playing a game instead of mashing the same button waiting for the mob to die. FF was always about turn based and strategy. FFT was my favorite for a reasonWho knows though, maybe they can somehow retain that feeling with this new battle system.

Having TP and MP be equal resources for combat won't make the game a "spam fest" ...I seriously hope notI hate how its just spam spam spam and no strat what so ever atm...

It certainly does look like the pace of combat was increased though.

Ah another thing that i forgot to mention, did anyone notice that Skills, have global Cool down (again, like wow e co. ? )
This i suppose, because the combat system is going to be much more fast, and to prevent too much spam of action.

I presume that you gain TP in battle like you do now, but that it regens out of battle automatically. As someone else said, like MP. I'll be interested to see how it pans out.
