Celebrating Hats for Hrothgar and Viera

Yeah, I was initially excited, but then I realized they were being wishy-washy with the news, and I wonder if it just means like the top 50 most popular hats have the new options. I wonder if the patch will have a full list of adjusted hats when it's out, too.

depends entirely on how big the list is.
If its just af gear caps and a few lv1 marketboard glam hats then sure.
If its much bigger they'll probably just post a picture(new?) of a hroth and viera in hats and say "headgear update" a la hair.
Every patch since ew has only shown 2 or 3 hairstyles in patch notes and not an actual list.
Might actually be better that way cuz then you could login and see for yourself what works early that morning (or if you're lazy wait for some video on youtube or a list on reddit).
I'd love if it was every mb lv1 hat and everything on mogstation but its best to just expect af gear and a smattering of lv1 crafted glams.

I honestly think it'll be funny if the only hats Hroths and Vierra can use are the four they showed and nothing else. lol

Clearly they couldn't afford two versions of FT because all the resources were put into these hats. A worthy sacrifice

I am hoping it is a decent amount of hats for folks who are really excited about them. However, they still have not fixed all of the gear scaling issues for female Hrothgar, so I am NOT holding my breath.

It's cool to be happy about finally getting them but I think Xeno put it best. If you showed someone who doesn't play FFXIV a picture of those character types with hats on and you were like "hey isn't this cool" they would be SOOOO confused because why wouldn't the hats have worked right out of the gate? Doubling down, if you told them these character types were released over half a decade ago and this system still isn't complete they probably would never give this game a shot.

So again, I understand being happy if the new hats is a thing for you, but don't let up a single inch. Yoshi P. said cost is the issue meaning that SE flat out didn't give a single F about things being broken. That said poor implementation from the get go is also a sign of dev teams not being up to par, UNLESS the time constraints really are that poor in that division. In which case you would think that at least one or two people would have come out about it by now. Idk man I just want people to show some fight. Obviously there is a silent portion that are feeling it and unsubbing, but if you really care and stay subbed, then let the dev team and more importantly CEO's know that things need to be better.

Especially since it means we're getting something while you're not. I'm happy for this so-called "PR Stunt" they're pulling. Enjoy feeling 1% of the frustrations we endured.

Are you serious? Majority of the community has used lack of Viera hats and Hrotgar hats as a chant and battle banner to fight against the decline of their design and care for the game. It's just people venting their frustrations that this is a clear jingly key distraction appeasement because the game is on the decline in terms of improvements and fixes and quality. Its not a personal attack on Viera and Hrotgar players. BIG PICTURE.

You can be happy about getting something or happy for someone for getting something they want, but this is the equivalent of a government giving someone a sandwich while the starvation issue hasn't been solved for good.

That collab will certainly happen when the third part of the trilogy comes out. But yes I would assume they have Tifa's outfit ready to release as a mogstation item just in case SQEX has a bad enough year to be in danger of going under
