MSQ / A Flare for the Dramatic

Hello All

I'm progressing the MSQ (Heavensward) and have now the quest: A Flare for the Dramatic.
The quest log tells to go meet Y'mhitra at the Great Gubal Library in Dravanian Hinterlands.

My problem: No matter what route I chose to go there, the passage to Dravanian Hinterlands is blocked.

My question: Is there another task/condition, additional to the quest, required to unlock the passage to Dravanian Hinterlands?

Unfortunately I think you just need to keep playing the main scenario. It sounds like you job level has overtaken the main scenario quest level. Unfortunately you won't be able to do your job quest until you unlock the Hinterlands which is (I think) around msq level 57-58).

'A Flare for the Dramatic' is one of the Summoner job quests as opposed to an MSQ/story quest.

Yeah - "Beyond the Clouds" is the MSQ point you've reached. What you are seeing is two different quest branches. "Beyond the Clouds" is the MSQ story point you're currently at. "A Flare for the Dramatic" is the job quest point you're currently at.

You need to play through "Beyond the Cloud", and the following story quests, until the MSQ basically catches up with your job level.

Previous reply is correct.

Your SMN level is high enough that you are able to take on the quest A Flare for the Dramatic, but due to limitations in area access of the MSQ, you can't continue the quest.

You mentioned you see the quest Beyond the Clouds, which is the quest you will need to continue progressing the MSQ until it will eventually guide you there and you can then continue progressing your SMN questline.

Yes, a guildie now came to me to help. He had correctly assumed what the problem was. He took me to Moghome where I was able to connect to the "real" MSQ. It is very strange that the MSQ didn't lead me to Moghome? I didn't had the zone at all so not the slightest chance to go there to pick up next MSQ step.

It's very confusing I must say. I had not clearly understood that I follow two different lines of quests: The job one and the MSQ. I had the job quest too early. Will take more care from here.

If it helps differentiate at all visually, the MSQ quest will always be in the "plaque" with the XIV logo, and the job quest will always be shown underneath it, relative to the job you have on and it's current level.

The quest Beyond the Clouds follows up after you complete the dungeon Sohm Al, which is how you first reach the area. So my assumption is after you completed that dungeon, you may have move onto something else and away from that area, then needed to find the overworld way back into it with the assistance of your friendo.

However, glad you were able to get back there and back on the MSQ road!
