That's what hurts the most all these ideas and speculations that won't ever see the light of day as it appears were just stuck on a Hamster Wheel

I don’t want to make savage useless and I dont intend this whole thing as a casual vs hardcore.
It was intended as a glamour farm while being useful enough to casually gear up for savage entry as well, not just for casuals but also for raiders who intend to gear up other jobs for that.
Nothing more and nothing less.
I don’t agree with hardcore raiders getting nothing in uneven patches honestly because there was chaotic and there will be a deep dungeon hard mode fight as well as maybe criterion but I am also just a casual raider nowadays so what do I know.
That’s also an entirely different topic and a Pandora’s box I don’t want to open here given the vitriol both sides throw at each other in other threads (and because I am also not neutral on this topic and have my prejudices).
All I want is both sides to have fun and something to do and want normal modes to actually matter more than a roulette thing.
Not because of altruism but because I am annoyed at the bitching everywhere between the sides.
Uh there are a few problems with gearing on a casual level tbh...
Firstly, it's a bit redundant to have normal mode gear and crafted gear be of equivalent item level, especially with how accessible crafting is vs the fact that normal mode gear is weekly gated. IMO, this gear needs to be equivalent to non-augmented tomestone.
For the state I am in, normal mode raid gear is invalidated the second it releases so there is literally 0 need for me to run it beyond doing it once for story, and with how accessible crafting is, this isn't exactly an anomalous situation.
Same thing with alliance raid gear being equivalent to augmented crafting, especially when the alliance raid gear is on a weekly lockout. This gear IMO should be equivalent to raid gear. Running alliance raids is also literally dead on arrival when augmented crafted has literally no weekly lockout on it. Simply doing as few hunt trains for a couple of days and there you have it, full augmented crafted.
Back in the day this may have been fine, but crafted as it is, is basically just your daily roulette Gil.
oh look its that game. the one that lets you play every job on the same character... if only you could equip them fast enough to actually use them.
i think a-raid-gear should have the same ilvl as raid gear. its catch up content after all. and im not sure why raiders would even care at that point.
i do use normal raid gear though since i dont use crafted gear. i use it for savage too but not week one though.
and normal trials are pretty pointless once you did them for the story... they could use some additions
Trust me. Everybody is for alliance raid gear to be on the savage ilvl. It gives non raiders another gear upgrade to farm + raiders have substat alternative gear to optimize. Both sides win.oh look its that game. the one that lets you play every job on the same character... if only you could equip them fast enough to actually use them.

None of us in the raiding space cares that casuals get gear.oh look its that game. the one that lets you play every job on the same character... if only you could equip them fast enough to actually use them.

Infact we prefer it because it means you don't have to lvi multiple characters if you want to flex multiple roles in a tier.
Honestly, outside of the weapon token, why is normal mode raid gear even weekly locked? It's the same Il as crafted, I'd get it if it was higher but come on. And it's not like crafted gear is this magical hard to obtain set either.
Make the normal gear the same il as low tome gear at least. Add a low level version of the ex weapon as a rare drop in the normal mode ( with it's own totem, but make it a general currency across all ex's so you can play any of them and not have 10 different normal mode totems).
Then drop some form of bridging content earlier. If it is supposed to be chaotic, don't drop it in 2 months before end of tier, drop it on patch. Same if the choice is criterion or some other content. I don't care, just make it relevant for a reasonable amount of time, and add some additional gearing source earlier with a special reward that isn't in savage already.
If the game gives me 5 roles to gear on one character, It should at least let me horizontally gear before any reasonable person would get bored of the content.
Crafted gear is better than nraid gear since you can penta meld it. I have absolutely no idea why nraid gear is weekly locked either. It makes no sense.None of us in the raiding space cares that casuals get gear.

Honestly the only reasons to even run raids after getting your gear is parsing or getting the cosmetics for alt jobs. Problem is when people need on literally everything because of the awful gear grind. Ally raid gear needs to be same ilv as bis and the raid tier needs to be unlocked when it comes out too. The only people who will be upset about it are the ones who need ilv to carry their parses. Nobody else cares.oh look its that game. the one that lets you play every job on the same character... if only you could equip them fast enough to actually use them.

oh sry. i didnt mean to say all raider care or are even upset if a-raid gear would be the same ilvl as savage gear.
i meant 'why would they be' because it often sounds as if they are. (not from raiders themselves but when that point comes up in discussions)
without fun jobs none of the content is fun!
jobs should have their full rotations on lvl 60 or 70! for a better low lvl experience.
for satisfying glam builduing we need 5 basic glamplates + 2 more for each class / job
pls give us a proper glam collection like every other mmo has.
pls upgrade the gear from normal raid and also alliance-raid by 10 ilvl each.
pls add old glowy ex trial weapons for new jobs!
and for gods sake pls give as the ability to preview any hairstyle on our own character!
