THANKYOU!
I was trying to think of a good way to put that and you nailed it. XD
Having a FFXIV sub token would indeed work AND it will kill off much of the bot spam. (It did in WoW)
Time poor players with lots of IRL cash can score gil legit.
IRL Cash poor players can score in game time.
Best of both worlds and it costs SE nothing but dev time to implement as every token is still paid for by someone using real cash, Hell, in WoW Tokens case it costs a little more than a normal sub to buy so in reality it was more of a capital boost than people buying their normal sub and didnt utilize the discounts for buying multiple months at reduced rates as happens with the Subs.

The average player who's not playing 20hrs/day and doesn't come up with nolife video game gold making schemes doesn't even have 10% of that.
You could just buy a xiv token and have gil that way to spend on mounts/glam/minions this is good for the game and casual player, it only slightly hurts hardcore players.
A fool only stays a fool if they refuse to listen and learn. If you listen and learn then foolishness can turn into wisdom.

Blizzard makes more money when people utilize the WoW token.
One player pays blizzard $20 for a token, and then trades it to another player for gold, who activates it for $15 worth of subscription time (or store credit).
The quantity of gold exchanged is irrelevant, while Blizzard makes an extra $5 per token overall.
That gil sellers exist indicate that some players do value gil enough to spend real money to get it.
They should add more expensive mounts, glams and stuff like that.

50 million for a token for gametime. Make it happen.

My €10.99/month subscription is great.
I remember the WoW era, it sucks to farm 3 weeks to have fun for free... It's still cheaper than your junk food menu or a Twitch Turbo subscription.

The WoW Token was the point when WoW was doomed. there s no recovery from this.
