EU Housing Demolition Pause

Has there been any official statement on when EU housing demolition might be resumed?

Having been paused since November, it kind of feels like they've forgotten about us.
8+ months seems a very long time to pause due to flooding, I'm not sure if this is normal?

I've been wondering the same thing. I'm not from Spain, but there doesn't seem to be any widespread, long-lasting effect that would warrant keeping the pause up for that long. Here's hoping we get news about it sooner rather than later!

I hope so too. Perhaps with NA getting unpaused this month then this will remind them to also do EU, I believe they were also paused since January.

It's absolutely ridiculous at this point. The lottery RNG is bad enough, auto-demo being turned off is an insult to injury!

I hope WoW's housing will be good when it comes out at the end of this year because I'm tired of XIV's embarrassing housing system. I'm mentally prepared to leave this game for good.

I don’t think it’s fair for you to be commenting in this thread, given your situation.
You’ve mentioned before that you own a house, and by your own admission, you took a break from FFXIV starting in November 2024.
During that time, you’ve directly benefited from the EU demolition pause.
Now that you’re able to post again on the FFXIV official forums, it’s clear you’ve reactivated your subscription and logged back into the server.
Yet, after enjoying the full benefit of the demolition pause, you’re suddenly speaking out against it?
Doesn’t that seem a bit hypocritical?
What would you call this kind of behavior?

I can comment in any thread I want, only the mods can stop me (if they still exist). Also, you don't know anything about my situation.

I got rid of my personal house to free up a plot for someone else. I thought having two plots would be too selfish of me, now that I've been losing interest in the game. And I've been sharing my FC house with my friend who's been losing the lottery for years (and soon she will have the whole thing for herself). The demolition pause does not benefit her because she's been active the whole time anyway.

I'm not upset for myself because I'm slowly but surely leaving this game. I'm upset for every player who can't get a house because of this RNG nonsense and auto-demo being turned off for an unfairly long time. Like it or not, I will speak up against this bad system as long as I'm a paying customer.

To answer your question, I would call this kind of behavior empathetic instead of hypocritical.

I've already explained why the demolition pause didn't benefit me. If you still don't get it, that's your problem.

The war has been ongoing since early 2022, the current EU demolition pause was because of the flooding in Spain over half a year ago now. I think it's time to resume it to let people have a chance at plots from those that moved on.
