Occult Crescent - PLEASE scale those FATEs better

I'm not sure if it's true, but heard that they do scale with the number of people who attempted it when spawned before.

If that's correct, WHY? It's absurd because suddenly you have a ton of people around and they are completed in a couple of seconds. Even if you are waiting by the aetherythe, you won't make in time. Even with the riding map buff.

Regardless if the information above is true or not, they should scale with the number of people roaming the area (outside of main camp). This is the only way for making it remotely accessible for everyone without literally camping on top of their spawn location. At this rate is less frustrating just to wait for CEs.

There is no logic behind the fate scaling, i think it is so messed up because everyone constantly teleports back to base so there are no players in the zones.

So when a fate spawns and there is nobody in the specific region, the game thinks the area is empty and scales it to 1 or 2 players,

Bozja was split into 3 Zones, and had multiple fates per zone, so players remained in a certain area for longer, but OC is split into 6 zones and there is always only one fate at the time which results in empty areas.

It should scale it with a zone as a whole then. People are constanty on the go because OC encourages you to do, so scaling by individual spots is kinda messy.

It's true that this is how FATEs work. It was implemented in ARR patches due to FATEs melting. Obviously the implementation is poor, but it's hard to necessarily anticipate how many are going to attack it as well.

The CE scaling is perfect. I can literally solo CEs and the amount of time that takes is the same as doing it with 72 players, if not faster as I've improved my gear/damage bonus.

I find that CEs scale better with a few (actually decent) players, 72 players in a single CE could mean you have 30+ people sandbagging or that otherwise don't know the fight well, so you end up with 40 people fighting a boss meant for 70, where as if there is 10 people, and all 10 are locked in, the CE will melt and barely cycle through their mechanics once.

you cant really miss fates if you camp an aetherite and port the moment when it pops. I only miss them when i really slacked or got distracted by stuff and then it still wont matter, because there will be another one 30 seconds later to join.

I honestly like them implode in 10 seconds, instead of having to hit them for minutes, while having to deal with their mostly boring mechs

Not in my experience, they melt right before I can deliver a single hit, let alone do enough to get gold (unless I'm a tank, but I don't have any at 100 right now).

The only exceptions are the ones that pop right next to an aetherythe or if I'm already too close to them.

I camp the aethernet and make almost every single FATE, including ones far from the aetheryte. There are certain common exceptions, such as the pudding FATE that fittingly always "melts" for some reason. I often miss that one.

It's often tight though, so if you load too slow and aren't traveling at the same pace as all the other players who camp the aethernet then you probably won't make it unless the seemingly random scaling/damage is favorable to give you time.

Instead of making them take longer to die, make it easier to get Gold rank on the FATEs.

Actually, I get gold on FATEs in 1 or 2 attacks as a tank. I just need a good solid hit. It's really non-tanks that suffer in that regard. But in this game it's pretty easy to switch job.
