But it seems like for every FF7 Rebirth or 16 there's at least 5 Forspoken, Outriders, Avengers, Star Ocean, Babylon's Fall, etc. They're definitely pumping out more flops than hits. Whether or not the hits offset the losses of the flops....idk.

I never said those were enough content on their own. They are part of a larger amount of things included in the patches. It's just that people on the forums often dismiss content they are not interested in, then say SE hasn't developed anything. But they have! Just the posters aren't personally interested in it. I am just reminding that they, in fact, have developed things.
Also, I have even agreed with people on things like "FATEs could be better" or "beast tribes are too pleasant" towards the player but ultimately, they have their reasons for keeping it this way. I think they don't make the open world like field operations because they don't want to make it hard for people who only play for the MSQ then quit, or who don't consider themselves to have any skill and just play for social reasons, thus farming FATEs is a chill no-skill activity they can do in a party, similar to unsync farming.
Speaking of making the MSQ remotely interesting, the reaction to In From The Cold showed how the reaction would be if the MSQ remotely required brainpower or effort or something a bit tense like a countdown timer.
Well he did say he would try in the media tour, and I have seen jobs advertised for FFXIV still.SE is a huge company and it’s Yoshida’s job to get the funds and manpower from them.

The number of “good” games or individual feelings doesn’t change that SE is still a huge company with immense financial power in that sector (and in my opinion still having good games next to flops). And how many "good" games had square in the last years? dont get me wrong i get your point but square is anything but not a big video game developer anymore, and tbh got the feeling even if you still would call square "big" that there only around maximal 10 people are working on the game (if you remove music and stuff like that) so only gameplaywise
I agree that this game (as much as I like it, otherwise I would have stopped playing already) is understaffed.
That’s why I think it is detrimental to pity or defend them or overly hating on the team in its entirely when it’s clear that some of them clearly still do good work.
I and others not just here just hold them to a standard that is expected of such a huge company with an MMO of that status.
I am as tired of crappy and overly hateful criticism here as I am of people defending the “poor” devs for doing their basic work.
They develop video game content and don’t work in a coal mine.

I see it the same, you cant move mountains with a handful people and especially not in a mmo where the devs have to cater to more then one category of player, i said it in a previous post it doesnt matter what square does there will always be people complaining so square looses anywayThe number of “good” games or individual feelings doesn’t change that SE is still a huge company with immense financial power in that sector (and in my opinion still having good games next to flops).

and if we are honest most of the profit square is doing isnt going back in ffxivs development more likeley in the other failing projects, so at some point people just need to accept with the current state of CBU3 the game will not change doesnt matter how much they complain

I don’t think people need to accept it though because like I said this MMO is one of the top and from a huge company.I see it the same, you cant move mountains with a handful people and especially not in a mmo where the devs have to cater to more then one category of player, i said it in a previous post it doesnt matter what square does there will always be people complaining so square looses anyway

People can and should criticize and demand better because we are still paying customers.
Things like the Forked tower entrance do deserve harsh criticism as do things like the horrible long wait time for non raiders.
People are also in their right to say “what the hell?” when things they like in the game get removed or changed like the relics in EW or the BLM changes only to be met with silence.
The money not going back into the game isn’t our problem but theirs.
What is important though is to also say when things are good like the CE fights themselves or the “idea” of making relics easier after the first one (not that it was done good here) and that’s what is missing in this forum.
But this is all I will say regarding this topic.
It’s also just my opinion.
Everyone can think what they want but it grinds my gears when I get told “you have fates and beasttribes” when someone points out the lack of non raider content till now.

You know, I had actually typed a whole paragraph but I think I can say it far shorter because others have said it already.
People want the ability to choose.
The patch content needs to be rearranged so every patch has something for raiders and nonraiders and you know what? Savage or ultimate shouldn’t dictate when the other content is given to us just because it might overlap. We shouldn’t have to wait a year for things like OC or a Hildibrand.
This game and its schedule I’m content needs to change, fast.
Sorry but I think we have to agree to disagree on this topic.
And with that I log out of this thread here.

Or, of it really cant overlap, then do is so that people who want to really soak-up their favourite content (people like me who found myriad ways to flesh out and enjoy DT MSQ), can then 'progress' to the higher end content step by step, without getting to it and finding its old hat and there is no one to truly 'share' the experience with. You know, I had actually typed a whole paragraph but I think I can say it far shorter because others have said it already.

I don't get why 'progression' Story > easy > hard > harder > really hard is such an anathema to, nearly everyone frankly. At the moment it's more like, 'choose your target content and skip to it ASAP'.
And yeah choice is important, like, I don't want to level the whole of omnicrafting in two weeks, I don't want to meta gil farm for a whole two months ahead of time. Choice. I choose to 'play'.
But yeah choice would always be better.

Whilst I've been having fun with the MSQ and some other content I missed while I was gone (Variants are SICK), I do wanna bring up one thing I noticed in my time back here that makes me doooooom to no end
The Tank/DPS/Healer forums are basically all but abandoned, and this is very sad in my opinion. even the JP megathreads barely get any posts compared to a few years ago (the Japanese also do not like the current job state. they often mirror our viewpoints)
Job threads used to be created by very dedicated people that wanted only the best for those jobs, and garnered support from other mains of said jobs. I used to love reading other peoples opinions on the jobs I loved, seeing if anyone shared my sentiments regarding design direction, and just overall engaging with the community. They were often a great source of both positive and negative feedback, and plenty of ideas in which direction to take the jobs. These threads often shared a common sentiment: hope that the devs would consider the carefully constructed feedback when balancing and changing job design; however, throughout the years, the devs never referred to said feedback, community managers were never hired to sift through the threads, translators were never hired to forward this info to the devs... so of course these forums are dead! I don't blame anyone for abandoning them either. You can only give so much feedback and hope for the person to change, but they have to be willing to put in the effort to change in the first place!
(I see that they only hired 1 new battle system dev since ShB. I was hoping to see at least 3 - 5 new names given the size of the game in comparison to HW/StB, but it looks like the same washed-up battle director is at the helm alongside his 2 lackeys who have said they don't like playing tanks or healers. As to why the Battle Content team is so HUGE in comparison to the Battle Systems team I will never know)
thanks for using XIV money to keep your pachinko scam afloat, Square Enix. You could've at least saved the KH mobile game for my friends sake, but alas... that would require reading player feedback.
プレイヤーの感情とか理解するってちょっと難しいね、吉P
the reason why ppl dont post in these job forums is because its pointless, the devs dont give a damn about ppl's opinions and feedback, and everytime i think about ways they can make these jobs more fun etc. i get depressed at how bad of a state they are... now a days ppl dont care since they said massive job update in 8.0 but i still doubt it'll be any good or meaningful change, the ppl might return on commenting about jobs in 8.0 onwards
