Unfortunately just like OC ended up being its just gonna be another watered down soulless ruined version of a system that already largely worked because the devs don't actually care about the game anymore.

No. /10char.
...As many already elaborated, the devs have made it clear this expansion cycle (especially with this incredibly lukewarm Occult Crescent) that they're perfectly fine with just checking the boxes for content that they feel like they're obligated to include without actually innovating or building on their successful aspects. Occult Crescent has several design issues where ideas are at odds with themselves (biggest being entry into Forked), Mamool Ja Society quests are the umpteenth, "fly here, click here, teleport back," model that are less involved than most free-to-play games I've downloaded on my phone. And Cosmic Exploration is hardly better in that regard; most people just end up macroing recipes, wait around for GP to refill for largely redundant crafting/gathering "relics" and RNG prizes (not to mention the DoH/L '"FATEs" are insultingly uninspired and seemingly impossible if nobody is piloting).
I'm expecting nothing beyond 80% the same pommanders, maybe a few new gimmicky ones, the same armor/weapon silver chest grinds, a new loot pool of reused minions, mounts and crafted EX weapons, and a new "clear 4 times" mount. That's probably all the effort they're willing to put into it beyond new ways to map hallways and rooms in new environments. With how fast Orthos died in activity last time, I suspect people wanting to get the most out of it need to go hard at it within the first 2 weeks or so... Which is fine, because max-level content is usually dried-up whenever they release stuff like this and we have nothing else left to do.
Eureka was dead on arrival. DT dungeon will be same
Eo was pretty lively for a month or so, just the limited levelling range and dilution of the deep dungeon pool coupled with low exp:time reduced incentive to run it and made queueing the old ones directly slower.
I quite like standing at the physical location to enter/queue, so it would be nice to retain that, but maybe with more convenient access than revenant’s toll -> friendly teleport npc who wasn’t initially there. Quarrymill is ideal, but HoH isn’t bad either.
I think they said it's in another part of the not-Bermuda Triangle, in which case it would probably be right next to the entrance to OC.Eo was pretty lively for a month or so, just the limited levelling range and dilution of the deep dungeon pool coupled with low exp:time reduced incentive to run it and made queueing the old ones directly slower.

Maybe that ominous door at the top of the overlook? Not the worst place, especially if OC has legs. Access isn’t terrible from tuli hub, but it is still 2 warps. Maybe they could add the phantom village was added as an aetheryte exit if there’s multiple POI there…
Depending on how good the exp is, it might be intended to and function well as a place to finish capping jobs before entering OC, however we quite a way into the expansion.
I could be wrong, but I vaguely remember the announcement at FanFest saying we'd be getting "new deep dungeon type content" or something along those lines - the way they phrased it sounded like it could be something different.
This slide says "New Plans for Deep Dungeons", rather than simply "New Deep Dungeon". Makes it sound like they acknowledge that a change is needed.
I'm hesitant to trust announcements like this after how other features of Dawntrail turned out in practice, but maybe it's cause to be somewhat (cautiously) optimistic?

Bring back 6.0 Dragoon. I want my job back.
New plan: everything inside is on rails, and you progress through rooms filled to the brim with untelegraphed OHKO moves.
Willing to give it a shot, especially if they move away from pomanders and incorporate phantom jobs. But I won't be surprised if it's just the sequel of the sequel of the sequel to Potd
I do wonder what kind of DD the devs would even cook up at this point that won't just be a rehash of what we already got.
We had scary auto's in PoTD and HoH, and we had scary mechs in EO. What else is left to make mobs scary with?
I'd love more actual roguelite elements and randomized stat/whatever upgrades in a DD, perhaps duty actions you can find and use a few times. At least some attempt to actually try something new, instead of just HoH 2 or EO 2.
