    Botanist / Miner: Bugged chronology?

    Hello All

This time I don't have any problems (can you believe it?), I would just like to understand something.

As recommended in the other thread, I did level up botanist and miner to 60. Once done, it did unlock a sequence of several quests for each discipline. I did them all and had a surprise: the gears/tools of the rewards are of a much lower level than 60! Only the very last one give us one piece of level 55 gear.

How strange... To unlock those quests, we're required to level up to 60, but the rewards we get are for lower levels?

I mean, it's no worries but where is the logic?

In the past, the level caps used to be like this (and each cap remained for about 2 years or so): 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and currently 100.

The quests should normally unlock a few levels apart, rather than all the way at 60. Level 70 is the last of the class-specific quests though, where they move towards "role quests" to get up to 80, 90 and 100.

Usually the gear from class quests will be leveling gear which is below the aforementioned level caps and pertains to the level of your class quest, and may not give you all the gear. There are ways to get leveling gear other than that though:
    - Vendors at Society Quests such as the Ixali tribe (in North Shroud) or the one at the Moogle tribe.
    - There are also merchants in Limsa/Gridania/Ul'dah for level 1-49, and level 51-59 at Ishgard's market area. You can get High Quality from the market board.
    - Levequests may also give gear rewards but I wouldn't bother with these for gear reasons when the above options exist.

Typically there was a way to get max level gear some other way when that level cap was the cap, and common ways included:
    - Buying it with crafter/gatherer scrips, which you will unlock at some point. You get scrips from doing Custom Deliveries, Collectables and Ocean Fishing. Those blug bag icon NPCs at city states should sell them, or any scrip exchange at towns/cities.
    - Buying it from the market board. Since crafters are crafters, they expect them to, well, try to craft gear for eachother since this has some logic to it.
    - There are also crafter/gatherer "relics" as we call them, which are powerful purple, sometimes glowing tools. I think the earliest one I know of is found at Ishgard after you make enough story progress, but I'm not an expert on these.

Thank you for explaining. As said, it's no worries with gear level because I have already higher level gear. I was just motivated to understand the - for me - lack of logic and now it's clear. Thank you again that you took the time to reply. <3
