can't block players non-party players from OC, thief job trap detect not turned off

was unsure where to post this, saw someone spamming the Thief phantom job's trap detect today inside Occult Crescent and wanted to block them so i wouldn't have to see it

It is still enabled when disabling the Battle Effects of Others.

when i went to block them, i couldn't do so from any menu i could find.
/blacklist add didn't work,
right clicking them and looking for block options only came up with the mute function
using player search didn't come up with more menu options
i wasn't in a party with them so i couldn't use Contacts to blacklist them from outside the instance

the incessant flashing in 3 ces started giving me a headache, is there no way to deal with this without hoping to get into a party with them? they were already in one so i couldn't even invite them to try that.

You can turn off other player effects Character Config> Control> Character > Battle effect settings
