What the hell were they thinking with Occult Crescent treasure chest rewards?

It does seem like the loot tables are seriously messed up, possibly not intended. The market has basically crashed since OC came out. There's not much you can sell for anything anymore.

As an example, Insufficient Petticoats emote has reliably been around 800-900k for a long time. It's now worth 3000 at most on my server, because it drops in OC.

It devalues the item and invalidates the achievement of acquiring it - you can no longer proudly show it off because nobody will know whether you earned it legit or got it last week for 5k on the MB or from a random silver chest in OC. It's also just unhealthy for the game and its economy in general, and goes against the very basics of game design. Rare items are an important part of the MMO genre and we've now lost several of the already few we had.

Going by your logic, should Ultimate weapons be made available for 1000 gil each from a vendor in Limsa? I should hope it would be obvious why that would be a terrible idea.

Everything to do with chests in OC feels like it wasn't QA'd. Why is the shark mount worth 99 sanguinite if it's such a common drop from chests? Why are the floor coffers, which are significantly easier to farm than pot coffers, giving better rewards than the pot coffers? Why are the floor coffers giving such previously rare rewards at all when they take zero effort to open? How the hell does 1000 bunny chests for a title make any sense? Did they have another method to find bunny chests which got oopsied last second? The whole system gives me a headache

Its a bit odd that they added Elvaan minion to the loot table(from Pyros) and jot the Cassie minion(from Pagos)
If they screw over one reward you can get why not screw both so more people have access to that minion as well.
