Well said. Just very well said.

Tried Occult today. First time entering and it already feels like a large empty zone. There is no communication besides yelling of: ''lfg ce, oc'' and random barrens chat. Can't open party finder to at least find people who create parties here. Must go outside the zone.
The whole loop of this zone is rush towards fates and pray that you get there in time because they are done super fast and all people have fast mounts while you as a starter have a slow one. So good luck catching to anything.
Critical engagements aren't something special, they just give more silver currency which is what you really need. Also as a starter you have to avoid so many mobs and dangerous places and your best bet is to play as a tank and hope you can reach fates and level up because nobody is killing mobs. Those party farm groups all require big levels and special jobs.
Disappointment. I don't want to even talk about forked tower. "Fun" gameplay of rushing to fates and that's it. The whole loop.
Tried it for the first time today. By the time I hit Kn.lvl 4 I was completely burned out and it wasn’t even an hour in there.
PS. just a heads up for everyone whos about to go in fresh. Don't even bother trying to reach normal Fates without the mount speed. Just try to reach CEs in time until you have 3k silver and buy the map.

I wouldn't say it's awful, but I lost interest a lot faster than I did Eureka for sure. The relic grind being exclusively tomestones and not having other options is kind of a drag.
I've spent probably 80 hours in the zone since its release and in all that time I've still never gotten to do the Sisyphus fate. The gold farmers in the cave always kill it before anyone else arrives. Spectacular content design.
I've killed it a bunch, but yeah, if you aren't RIGHT there when it appears you're gonna miss it. The way that it attacks as well it's possible to show up, get hit and die without getting credit.
Playing OC made me realize in retrospect how good Bozja and Eureka were. Larger scale events like Dalriada and BA could be annoying to get into, but at least were more accessible. Phantom Jobs sound cool, but with the system's push to get your to grind the jobs to max first, it kinda forces you to stick to stuff you don't actually want to do just you you can master the job. The skills in Eureka and Bozja were nice because you could mix and match from the get-go and not feel as constrained with your choices.
Also, why the heck is there a level 100 requirement? The other zones were nice in that while you were grinding away in there you could also at least be getting exp on a side job while you did it. This zone offers no real perks outside of stuff just within this zone, which is really terrible for longer term relevance. At least lower the level requirement to 90 or something.
I think they maybe also underestimated how easy gold farming would be... I'm drowning in golds with not much to spend on, while silver seems to take FOREVER to accumulate.

"Well, it's no Vana'diel, but it'll have to do..."
Hmm I'm the complete opposite. I have good silver income (close to grabbing the mount after having snagged the map) but I have 3 gold pieces.
Yup 3.
No, I will not grind dumb ass trash mobs for it. What do I look like, some MMO-Grind bot?! Fates are bad enough but at least the CE have mechanics and provide actual gameplay.
I'm not saying we should have to grind like gold, I'm saying either up the amount of silver dropped or at least offer alternate ways to farm more. Even with "actual gameplay" CEs get stale after a while, and if they're not going to increase the amount of silver you can get for them, at least offer maybe some silver when killing mobs that have gold (maybe at a rate of like 1/3 the amount or something, doesn't have to be as much gold as silver) so that I'm not wasting days at a time to get enough silver to gear up, get mounts, etc etc.Hmm I'm the complete opposite. You have no gold, not because the drop rate of gold isn't high, but because you haven't done the content that drops gold.
If you do the content that drops gold you realize very quickly how much faster gold drops than silver relative to the amount you need to purchase items out of the shop.
1 hour of 8 man gold farming gives you the buying power equivalent of 6+ hours of silver farming.
