In 4h farming in the new field, I got not a single one.
♥♥♥
It's a marathon not a race. I got them after 3ish days of grinding when the demiatma patch dropped... only to them see another thread on the forum complaining that after the demiatma grind then you just use tomes and it's too easy again
People really need to pick one side, it can't be both too long and grindy and too easy and unfulfilling.

What about the actual third side that most people are actually complaining about: this droprate rng and fate farming suck ass?
Secretly had a crush on Mao
Nobody cares about that because they got in when it was new and stuff died in seconds so their time to get their demiatmas was significantly faster. So if you came to it late like I did you get instances with a maximum of 10 people where you can barely do a single CE or you get a decently filled one and all you can do is CEs. Either way, your average is never going to be the same as theirs because of that unrealistic expectation. So you're stuck grinding it and for them, it took a week maybe two weeks tops. It's just dogshit.
If the next step is RNG I'm out.
The zone sucks anyway. The silver coin rate is dog water and you have to waste your first purchase. I haven't even made it back to the 3k I wasted on that map, but then again I haven't been able to spend much time in OC because it's so damn boring or someone asks me to leave to get a fresh instance.
To me, it's a combination of a boring zone and RNG being the absolute worst system for player progression. That and white knight assholes who have to defend it even when it's indefensible.

This hasn't been a thing for almost a month, now, since patch 7.3 dropped and Forked Tower premades were guaranteed their own, private instance.
It happened to me this morning. For whatever reason I don't know why. I was gonna do some grinding before work and just left so they could have it. They asked nicely enough. It was two people from Sarg I just assumed they knew what they were talking about so I left. This hasn't been a thing for almost a month, now, since patch 7.3 dropped and Forked Tower premades were guaranteed their own, private instance.
The DPS will not contribute in the slightest because fates adjust to the amount of players running them. If you have tried getting into fate trains in DT areas when this atma farm was going full steam ahead, you'd probably have noticed that the first you get into an area your group will trounce through literally everything, and the next fate that will pop will suddenly become a lot more meaty to finish. And if you have the misfortune to have multiple groups farming the area, as soon as half of them leave you're left with fates that will take twice or thrice more time to finish until the area adjusts the new ones accordingly.
Honestly, I haven't noticed that at all. We're talking about overworld FATEs here, so the more people there are, the quicker they will generally get done in my experience. In OC yes, of course they sync, but you can also re-sync them by letting the mobs reset and pulling again. You're not forced to fight the more difficult version.
I've sunk an easy 10-12 hours into spamming fates in Yak'tel, and I've been sitting on 2 Malachite for weeks.
Sunk another half dozen hours into the Crescent itself (Which I hate for its own reasons. Run to Fate/CE, get nothing, /return, teleport to nearest shard, Run to Fate/CE, get nothing, /return; Ad Nauseum) and got absolutely nothing.
How hard would a pity system be?
You fail a Fate/CE. Get buff: "Your efforts of searching make you keen to the gleam of Demiatma, increasing your chances to find them by 1%".
It stacks per fail; and when I finally get 1, I lose all stacks.
At least then, I know that EVENTUALLY I will get one.
But as it is, I could be grinding this until 8.0 and still be stuck on this quest. It's pathetic.
I have no incentive to even try, because I don't know if ANY of my time and effort will be rewarded. I can (And Probably Will) be doing these for another dozen hours and get nothing.
Congrats to all those who got lucky and actually get to progress their relics, lucky you.
The rest of us don't, for no reason other than the game shrugged and went "Lol nah"
Honestly same. I still have 7. I've spent a few hours and I got to level 15 in OC, but it just feels meaningless when you spend any amount of time working for something under RNG. I'm not gonna give up because I'm not going to let this dogshit system made by some incompetent Japanese moron beat me, but it's still something that should never have been in this game. It's baffling how they made a grind worse than the original 2.0 Atmas like they did. It's honestly the only impressive thing about it. How can you see the feedback that it’s complete horseshit and yet you bring it back, but worse? Granted you had to do it again for every weapon, but it was once per zone and not thrice.I've sunk an easy 10-12 hours into spamming fates in Yak'tel, and I've been sitting on 2 Malachite for weeks.

Absolute dog shit. I hope Wow's housing makes you look like the incompetent morons that you are SquareEnix.
At least this next step is deterministic. Which is all I asked for in a grind you incompetent shits.
It's harsh, but this is unacceptable as the original post describes it. This shouldn't be like this. It shouldn't be this bad. How incompetent do you need to be to make it this bad? Because that's not someone I want working on a game I pay for.
Hell if Blizzard added this by this next step they would increase the rates and add a demiatma exchange vendor to help speed up people's grinds. Not SquareEnix. Don't change any of it. Leave it broke. It's why I'm so jaded to anything this company does because I know for a fact it will be made the worst way it could be with no disregard for when the content dies or when players shouldn't still be stuck in it. It's a joke.

You can criticize something without being rude and insulting people. I understand the frustration, but it just detracts from your point and is a waste of time and energy for everyone involved.
