I know I'm over 70 Fates by now, and I've gotten ONE Demi Atma. No idea how many hours spent.

The drop rate from FATEs is about 5%. In my experience, it's normal to take 60 FATEs to get 1. After a while, you get 3 within several FATEs. Then it goes back to taking around 60 FATEs to get 1. But if you do the division, it ends up as a 5% rate overall.
70 FATEs is really nothing because they die so quick. I got my 500 FATE achievement so quick in OC and I was doing it insanely casually like 1-3 hours a day, missing a lot of days and often just being 1-2 hours. If you don't want to put in the effort to fight a tiny amount of CEs (let's say up to 12 per demiatma type), then the alternative is enduring the bore of hundreds of FATEs for 3 of a given demiatma.
It also doesn't help that the FATEs are so incompetently made that they die in seconds as they spawn. I had to go to Materia and play with the delay to even remotely enjoy my time. Someone should force the developers to play their ill-designed games. They'd fix it right away. God damn that zone is shit.
I also only have 3 demiatmas. It's not even remotely fun. Honestly, now that I have the riding map I'm kinda done with it. It's so poorly designed and terrible that none of it is fun. It's just dull tedium.
