I'd kill for friends like you in 14. Seriously everyone I've met lately has been out for themselves first. Which is why this has been such hell for me to do it. I've been entirely solo. Even in a group nobody wants to chit chat they don't know you so it's just been rough. And like you, if I were done and you needed one I'd help you and I think FATEs are the worst piece of content in this game and I'd still help a friend get their last one or last 5. I wouldn't care. It's just been so anti-social on my social front if you follow me. This is making this grind torture.

I know your pain. Is there no FC you can try to ask for help in/join and meet new friends? I've also opened FATE farming PFs outside of OC and had people help me speed up the farm that way (when I was farming gemstones/ranks, but if your quest is active you can also get the forbidden OC candy)


Staying polite and positive can be so hard when you're used to people giving you the cold shoulder, but you must present the best version of yourself (not only for others, but for yourself too!). You never know where you'll meet your future best friend, so don't be afraid to strike up conversations! If no one answers that's just their loss :P we try again in the next duty!

I appreciate it. No the last FC I was in didn't care that I was struggling with it. I kept asking for help and got told maybe later too many times and I quit. It just wasn't good. I have been burned too many times lately so it's hard to jump back into it. Which has made me bitter and that's not fair to the new people I would or could meet.

That's fair. If you somehow find yourself in Europe despite the ping, I can ask some FCs about recruitment. I used to play with ~250ms and had no issues myself, but I know it's not a decision made lightly. I hope you find your dream FC/friend group when you are ready to try again!

I've thought about it. I'm not a "hardcore" player so ping isn't that big of a deal for me. I've just had an awful time with FCs and friend groups since Dawntrail came out. This expansion has just been a pit of despair socially. Every FC I join is either too casual in which they do absolutely nothing in the game together or is a "casual" hardcore FC wanting to get people to fill hardcore stuff. Which doesn't help with stuff like this because either they don't want to help you at all or they want you to help them.

Either way I just got politely asked to leave an OC instance by some people from Sarg so they could have a fresh one and I have ran out of time before I have to go to work.

I've done ultimates on ~250ms ping and cleared unreals on ~500-600ms ping (this one is truly awful, would not recommend lol) and it's not impossible, it just has a skill curve like all things.


I don't think the FCs I was thinking of may be a good fit for you then, I am afraid :< I only know some fairly small FCs. I wish you the best of luck!
