By the way, you need THREE ores per relic. Your first relic is NOT COMPED! Rumors are totally wrong!![]()

Yeah sureee.. by all means, pls record a video of you staring at painted wall for 3-4 hours then post it on youtube. I bet you would've prefer to play a game than doing that.In between watching paint dry and "griding" for demiatma, i had a better time watching paint dry, at least in that situation there isn't some delusional people trying to convince me that is ok to waste hours of my day and amount to no better results than when i started.
25 fates done, not a single demiatma acquired, slot machines have better odds than this bullcrap
You're not forced to do relic btw, so you can safely ignore this content /shrug
But you do you, keep ignoring people's advice of trying to farm CE inside OC and then cry about it.
Absolutely!I totally agree with you. The grind should produce results. This is the 1st step of the relic weapons, and players shouldn't spend hours upon hours grinding in a zone, especially doing FATES outside of OC, and not end up with anything. I don't mind grinding as long as it is productive. Doing FATES, like I have in a zone for several hours & don't get anything besides bi-color gemstones (which I could careless about), isn't productive.
I think the RNGesus must hate me or something to be honest. As I noted in another thread, and despite my misgivings about the appalling Atma drop-rate, I returned to OC yesterday with the mindset of "forget Atma, just grind Silver pieces".
And it's just as well I didn't go into OC with the intention of obtaining any Atma because, again, after eight hours (over two days) of running around inside OC I'd obtained plenty of silver pieces but not one single Atma.
Why would I be grinding CEs for a long, long time? I'm not slaved to that mediocre content.
Relic or Atma weapons used to be nice: there were 8 different development levels for each job in past extensions. The first blank was easy to obtain and already looked promising in it's simplicity. Yes, each level required time-consuming farming, but there was still variety to be found. I enjoyed every success in the progression and sank countless hours into it with joy. The community of gamers were quick to remark and grumble. Square Enix then demanded only 1500 stones of the current currency. Relic weapons became junk. Unfortunately, the same thing happened in the next expansion: another 1500 stones for a relic weapon: immediately available without rewarding intermediate levels. How do I sell the same boring story a third time for 1500 stones? It's simple: I'll make it a brusque and difficult condition that only players of FF14 who are capable of suffering will like. Just by the way, hand only 6 different 3 Atmas count to Gerold. My success rate for Critical Engagements: Exactly 8% for necessary drops according to my stats in CE! That means 6 hours of playing time for one drop since four days. This is how Square Enix keeps Occult Crescent active for only for weeks time and never investing creative time that costs money: enslaving players in the tedious hope of finally getting the redemptive drops. And pressure my to solve it now, or forget it. This is simply bad game design and does not honor the time of every player invested.
Honestly, this grind is no big deal considering that it is only done once. The problem moreso derives from the locations in which you can obtain them. When it comes to Occult, the SW section has 3/4 with only 1 CE that does it, 1 Pot, and then 2 FATEs that end fast. With how other areas spawn it is easy to be at a point where you are missing from 2/6 because of how the spawn rates work however at least doing the "open world" FATEs is a means to do it.
One thing I can't fathom with this relic grind however is that 1st part is a mix between doing it in Occult or open world yet the 2nd part which is the more time consuming one is pretty much Duty Finder only. With how little Tomes you get from Occult it is not going to players' first choice in obtaining the ores they need for their relic. I find it such an odd choice that they did not at least attempt to use silver/gold or even new drops appearing as an additional way to do the phase because as it stands Occult content itself is rather vapid in design.
A story that you can complete with minimal interaction with the content, and a 2nd phase grind that discourages you from using Occult as the go to method to complete.
not going to add to the fire here, but I have been incredibly unlucky with my drops - actually 0 in a few hours' playtime. Abandoned the quest and restarted it, hoping this helps my drop rate.
That certain Demiatma only drop from certain FATEs / CEs adds another layer of RNG on top of the odiously low drop rate; you have to luck out twice to get one. Overworld FATEs let you target colors, but the drop rates there are no better than in South Horn (maybe worse) so either way people aren't getting the same return on time investment through no fault of their own, or even other players. It's just luck.Honestly, this grind is no big deal considering that it is only done once. The problem moreso derives from the locations in which you can obtain them. I noped out of South Horn after hitting Knowledge 20 and none of the FATEs / CEs I needed were spawning. Still needed 2 green, 1 light blue, and 1 yellow. Grinded in Yak Tel for 2 hours, got 1. Going at that rate it's going to take me as much time to get the rest of the ones I need as it took my brother to get twice as many. Feels bad.
And the fact you can't buy Arcanite Ore until you finish the Demiatma grind disincentivizes playing any other content since you'll be wasting tomestones you could use to buy more otherwise.
I want to go exploring in South Horn like you're supposed to and just do the daily dungeon grind, but RNGesus isn't favoring me.

I agree with you 100%. I do not mind grinding, however over the last two days I have put in 13 hours of grinding and have not received any drops. All of my friends are done and want to do other things but feel bad for me so they are helping instead of doing the things they want to do.
I get the fact that some people didn’t like how easy EW was, and want to feel challenged, however, there comes a point when the grind ceases being challenging, enjoyable and fun, and becomes frustrating and annoying.
